When I wake up in the morning, I rarely stress on what kind of day I’m going to have. I wake up looking forward to get into the studio, writing new songs, booking performances, performing itself, even all the promotional web-related work doesn’t feel like work to me. I get to express myself everyday in a way that is therapeutic and relaxing, revitalizing and fun. I love my job. I do it for me. I do it for my family. I do it for our Native people. I make music to reach out from a part of me that isn’t surface level to anyone that can benefit from what I’m able to offer. This is why, when I wake up in the morning, I rarely stress on what kind of day I’m going to have.
Bio
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Meghan has been working towards a career in the Arts from the time she was small. She comes from a mixed family of Irish and Cree/Dene (Aboriginal), and pulls from both of her cultures for a sound that is as unique as she is.Over the years she has developed an ability to reach her audience both on and off stage with a warm and personable vibe. Through classical training in both piano and voice, Meghan has been able to combine her training with an urban flare, developing her sound as an RnB/Soul singer and performer.
After working on a demo CD for the past year, for which she has written each of the songs, the time to release the final product has come at long last. Her debut EP, titled "Just the Beginning" includes guest appearances by artists such as Jesse Bear, Chris Rouse and Peter Jones. Produced by Musashi, Meghan's style is RnB mixed with Acoustic Soul.
