Movies, music, reading, cooking (I love to throw a mean BBQ), playing my guitar (or "gee-tar" as we call it here in the South), and a few mellow cool sounds on the old sax, home renovation and restoration, hitting the punching bag, shooting , camping, veggin' out, hangin' with friends, some quiet "me" time, and oh yeah...Vegas Baby!!!, and working...I love my job.I absolutely love the world of art. Painting, sculpture, building, drafting, drawing. You name it, I love it. I have way too many favorites to list them here, but Norman Rockwell and Frank Frazetta are two of my favorite modern painters. ANd it gives me an excuse to put the "Death Dealer" on my page... Sometimes, art is just so appropriate, too.And Halloween is my all-time favorite holiday. In fact it is my favorite so much, that I got married on it...
Lots of interesting people who won't make fun of me...
Just about everything. The Man in Black is my favorite, though. Reverend Horton Heat, Social D, Pink Floyd, Supersuckers, The Misfits, Concrete Blonde, The Vandals, Metallica, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, Soundgarden, Chili Peppers, Audioslave, etc, etc, etc. I have a soft spot for old whiney country songs. Love Metal (am a recovering Metal-Head). Even don't hate all rap and pop music."Let's get it on", "Wish you were here", "Big Iron", "Hotel California" and "Walk the Line" are probably my top 5 favorite songs of all time...
Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Godfather, Conan the Barbarian, Alien, Guarding Tess (not kidding!!!), Three Kings, Beautiful Girls, Nobody's Fool, Blackhawk Down, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Tears of the Sun, High Fidelity, and so on and so on. Yep I love movies.I love most movies. Even movies I hate I've seen half a dozen times. My top 5 of all time: Jaws, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Dawn of the Dead (original or remake. They're kinda tied), Raiders of the Lost Ark, Mad Max.But zombie movies hold a special place in my heart. Even the old Italian shit-fests all have something in them that I like. I have a phobia of them, but am compelled to constantly watch. Whether it's a well done production, or a really cheesy shot on video for no money schlock-fest. And I think running zombies are just as scary as shambling zombies, but in a completely different type of scary altogether.
The Tonight Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Daily Show, M*A*S*H*, My Name is Earl, Mail Call, The Colbert Report, Mind of Mencia, King of the Hill, Weeds, Battlestar Galactica, The Simpsons, Masters of Horror, Firefly,Sanford & Son, The A-Team, South Park, Star Trek, The Sopranos, Deadwood, Rescue Me, Bullshit!, CSI, Law and Order:SVU, Anything on Discovery or History Channels. I just Looooooooove "Shark Week"! I can't believe they cancelled "Over There".And The Shield is hands down the greatest show on television.
Jarhead is fantastic. The Zombie Survival Guide is no joke.I will read anything by Elmore Leonard, Chuck Palinhuik, Mark Bowden, Jon Stewart, or Bill Maher. Love the Robert E. Howard pulp stuff (Conan is probably one of my favorite literary characters. I grew up reading him and "The Shadow"). Love lots of non-fiction and history. The funny thing is, I just get engrossed when I get on a reading kick. I'll go 2 or 3 months straight and just devour books (3 or 4 a week), and then I'll slow down and it will take me a month to read just one.I absolutely devour art books. Everything. Painting, sculpture, metalwork. I can spend hours and hours just staring at art books.I read waaaaaay too many comic books, too. Walking Dead, Captain America, The Punisher, Conan, and so on and so on.
Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Clint Eastwood, Paul Newman, Robert E. Howard, Norman Rockwell, Ted Nugent, Frank Frazetta, Bill Maher, Steven Spielberg. My Dad. Gawrsh, there's way too many to list really. There are many for many different reasons.
