My likes.... the smell of Play-Doh,sneezing,having my kids draw on my face and arms when I'm tired(have to pay them)...When I die I instructed my kids to place Play-Doh in my nose and have at me with a pen. What an interesting veiwing that will make at the funeral home. I love saltwater fishtanks,Chondros(Green Tree Pythons), burning myself in the shower, cereal, redbull, staying up late, teasing little kids , trout fishing, rooms with no windows, starry nights, watching people fall, smell of sofrito, being unorganized(how I lasted 13 yrs. as a teacher without getting fired I haven't a clue), annoying organized people, vanilla anything, lighters ,cool tattoos, eating icecream with a fork, dry hair and skin, track lighting, chicken picatta, carving pumpkins, wanting to get back into Bonsai trees after 15 yrs. Last but certainly not least my beautiful wife and six awesome kids!!My Dislikes...When my wife hounds me and the kids are annoying, most cats, rooms with lots of windows, when people complain about being car-sick, books with no pictures, talking about or watching sports, playing cards, wine, SALT on a Margarita,Nascar, Nascar stickers on trucks, die hard Chevy fans, die hard Ford fans...hillbillies in general, having to talk to people I have nothing in common with, little kids who are boring, overly happy people who talk too much and never shut up,greasy hair, sanding resin parts, weak magnets on a refrigerators, too much stuff on a refrigerator, blank refrigerators ,drinking the last bit of a beverage from a container...I'll open a new one and deal with my wife later, coffee, nuts, and I hate reading and following directions.
Other than that I was born March 5, 1969 in Queens, New York, and grew up on Long Island. I received my BFA in Illustration and Education from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. I relocated to Northern Michigan in 1993 where I still live with my wife and 6 kids until our escape.
I am a sculptor working under exclusive contract with DC Direct(DC Comics) but prior to that I taught school (K-12 Art) for 13 years. I discovered my passion for sculpting in 2003 and since then have sculpted for clients such as McFarlane Toys, Bowen Designs, Sideshow Collectibles and of course DC Direct.
Please free to stop on by my website. http://www.villafanestudios.com/ In the website you will find a small tutorial showing how I carve my pumpkins. Check it out and give it a try sometime.
