We have long ways to go in America with race relation. Truth will no longer be put on layaway.. It time to talk, create, stand, and speak truth to heal us all from 400 years + of hate. I see people hurting, truth being told in the voice of lies, joy denied, pain embraced and heart alone in a crowded world. I don't want to see... but I see.
I don't want my art, life to be in vain.
The butterfly in black art represents life and death.
My art will reach it's height in the months to come, days to come, hours to come. It is Black Art....

My Art
1619 Studio is located in Denver ,Colorado. "I create historical black art and fine art. After 28 years as an artist I find joy creating art that changes document the black experience. I create historical images of the history of black in American. My goal is to educate, stimuate, and provoke thought. There is not enought dialogue about the real race issues across the world.
I started creating art when I was 7 years old. My first show was at age 15 in Columbus Ohio. I create from the heart, soul, and spirit. I graduated from Ohio Dominican College 1987 with B.F.A. I have 28 years as a professional artist with volumes of work. I create women's art that reflect their inner real beauty. As an black woman artist my issues and struggles have been documented in relationship with my career and gender. As a Christian artist my faith is the center in all I do. The Purpose of my art is to glorify God,create positive images for blacks, bring forth Christ in art, and heal the broken.
Tribute to my Mom who passed away this year and Dad: Louise and Robert Dillard, My husband, My son and Daughter, My best friends, Martha, Nancy, Evy, and of course with him I be nothing: God, Jesus, and his spirit.
