Cheesesteaks from Govinda's and Giannas (My philadelphians will understand this.) The color green. I'm really liking it more every day of my life. Sunshine through new leaves. Great Literature, Great Art, Great intellect...all the things that the human race has gotten away from recently and which separate us from apes. Tiny Decorative boxes, Body Modification, more body modification. My stupid stupid cat who I love despite the obvious brain defecit. Staying up all night, just so I can go bike riding In the pre-dawn and dawn hours.
Hot Girls. I don't know, someone who can hold an intelligent conversation, and who's actually seen a streetcar named desire, and who really loves the color green. I'd also really like to have breakfast with Trent Reznor. Not in any obsessive fan-girl creepy way. Just I think it would be really surreal to sit at a diner at 6AM eating eggs and drinking coffee and smoking with Trent Reznor. I'm sure he's just chock-full of witty one-liners. Then, when I was sick of the insanity, I'd make him pay the check and leave. And have a story forever.
Eclectic...But everyone says that. Classical, baroque, The doors, Jethro Tull, Tool, A perfect circle, dykey-punky stuff (Like L7 and My Ruin), Fiona Apple, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Dykey-folksy stuff (Like Ani Difranco and The Indigo Girls), Completely red-blooded american classic rock, glam metal...I could go on forever.
Anything classic or gorey and from asia. I'm of simple tastes. My favorites are Casablanca, A Streetcar Named Desire, Cool Hand Luke, and probably Requiem for a Dream, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, even though they make me want to go on benders. Oh, and anything by Oliver Stone.
Who needs it? Actually, sometimes I do. I sometimes become mesmerized for hours, watching the weather channel, unable to move or channel surf. It's very strange. It's like white noise, but with pictures. Sometimes, they have the muzak version of the doors or pink floyd...have a cigar, on the weather channel? So wrong, so very wrong....
Oh, we need books as much as we don't need TV! Michelle Tea is a goddess, who I would proudly be the footservant of for the rest of all eternity. I like Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker series, Joyce Carol Oates, Hunter S. Thompson, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Arthur Miller, Tenessee Williams, Michael Chrichton, Homer, Tanith Lee, and lots of other things. I really Love books. There are just too many important authors for the space I have here.
Jim Morrisson, who was an awful horrible person, and made no excuses for it. Michelle Tea, for never being afraid not to plan ahead. Actually, she's rather attractive, too. My grandmother, who did all the hard parts of being my mom, and got none of the glory. Pretty much anyone who is unabashedly them, and unapologetic. Marilyn Monroe, who died just as she wanted to, young and pretty. Addicts in general, who know pretty much where their life's going.
