I live right down the road from the Box Car Willie Memorial Overpass. This is where I have been planted...Red Oak, Texas. I have some unsung Heroes...they are my neighbors. Robert who is raising two teenage girls by himself and has forgone female companionship to be a full time dad...he is my hero. A police officer by vocation he keeps our streets safe. Luis lives across the street and is a full time fireman and spends the majority of his off time up at the elementary school being a foster dad to a school full of kids. Ivan lives right next to him and took care of my neighbor Bob until he died in Ivan arms. Heidi and Ivan still take care of his widow many years later. My drinking buddy Linda lives next door. We drink coffee together on most Sundays. She feeds all the animals including the possums. Just a little Red Oak history...We were known as Possum Trot Texas before we became Red Oak. These are my heroes...my neighbors. Jesus said that some speak for their own glory but it is those that "do" that bring glory to God. My neighbors bring glory to God.
