Prophet Rayza

Prophet Rayza is a young, hungry and determined emcee hailing from the south side of Brisbane. He discovered hip hop at 5 on a train trip from Brisbane to Melbourne when he first saw Graffiti and told his mother that when he grew up, he would do it too. At 16 he was exposed to hip hop through graffiti, and soon after became a bboy. He first joined a crew in 1999 known by the name of WBK (Wicked Beats Krew) where he got his first taste of live gigs. Shortly thereafter WBK disbanded, and Emcee Rayza (as he was then known) went back to writing rhymes as only a hobby. It wasn’t until he and Emcee Rite formed “SOUTH EMCEE’S” in 2002, that he started to take his rhymes seriously again. After a few gigs, problems arose in the group and shortly thereafter, Emcee Rayza and Emcee Rite left with the hopes of founding a crew that had the right ideology and represented true hip hop so they formed “THE PROPHETS.”
Founded on the their belief that hip hop should be about knowledge, wisdom, ability and friendship, they started to get busy writing tracks and put Quick down. “THE PROPHETS” were complete. From here on in they would be known as Prophet Rayza, Prophet Rite and Prophet Quick.
The trio developed a new sound and style that hasn’t been explored in Brisbane and started to work on their planned debut release “The Journey”. This was not to be however as the group split. After releasing his debut album "Still I Shine" in 2005, Prophet Rayza (Along with Tommy Illfigga, Adverse and DJ Jayske) formed "A DYING BREED" and are currently working on the groups debut ep.
Having done support acts for numerous national and international acts including DJ Q Bert, Q Unique, DJ Eclipse, Lord Finesse and Grandmaster Roc Raida to name a few you can be sure that the groups debut will not be a dissapointment...
