About Me
Welcome to the official page of PRINCE PO..one half of the critically acclaimed internationally known groundbreaking duo Organized Konfusion
OK crashed the scene in the 90's with 3 soul touching successful L.P's before parting their ways to embark on solo careers.Prince po(short for poetry) continued grinding, adjusting to the ways of the new millenium via pro tools, cubase, etc to further his production skills. In 2002 he started a new foundation called Nasty Habits Entertainment. This foundation consist of a few artist and producers hand picked by po for their uniqueness and limitless talents. "I need people who is going to grind extra hard so we can elevate the culture" prince always utters ... In 2004, prince released his 1st. solo venture " The Slickness " thru London based Lex records. The record caused an overseas uproar and was given a 4 out of 5 stars by 3 major publications....and then the touring begun. After extensive touring with the likes of Dangermouse and Gemini, Sage Francis, RJD2, Prince paul and others, po returned safely heading straight back into the lab. In 2005 po landed a distribution deal with Traffic ent. which initially released a special Best of OK which sold exceptionally without any promotions. This year it will be his sophmore banger " Prettyblack " which hit the stores July 2006. Po bangs out more hot production on this one with the help of fellow beatmasters Rockwilder, Large pro, and again the madcap Madlib. Nasty Habits has two artist... GBG and Tha Brothamens, both from New york. Po's cousin C.J. is on the production side of the team... also there's a trio from Amsterdam called Soulsearchin who's beats is beyond compare....FIRE !!!

READ A FEW REVIEWS ON THE NEW ALBUM....Most Organized Konfusion fans will tell you that Pharoahe Monch stands out lyrically way more than Prince Poetry. Although, with that said, Po has created a much more impressive solo catalogue than Monch, and the brand spankin’ new TomC3 produced Saga of the Simian Samurai is yet another dope notch in his increasingly daring repertoire, backing himself up as being one of the most underrated underground rap stars as of late. From a quick glance at the cover art, you’d think this was some sort of crazy world music compilation; sketches by Joel Dugan showing a Simian ape in samurai headgear. Bit different from your usual Hip-Hop collaborations. But straight off the tip of the intro track, even the most critical backpacker listener would get excited when Po bursts onto the joint claiming;“Street fighters of justice/ Here to restore the government / Reppin’ real hip-Hop/ Nothin but that rugged shit.â€Set yourself up for an experimental journey with this album which speaks very little of Simians or the Samurai, but touches upon a broad range of ideas Po and C3 have come up with in their short two month time together to knock up the entire album. Being one of the most busiest names in the underground scene, Prince Po has teamed up with his ultimate musical partner in this release, TomC3, whos notoriously known for the adaptability in his beats for abstract wordplay. C3 actually produced last years acclaimed Project Polaroid featuring the legendary MC Kool Keith (and if there’s any MC to call abstract, its KK!) Prince Po and TomC3 are definently at their finest when together, and there is never a dull moment on Saga of the Simian Samurai. With C3’s innovative chop and mix techniques, his production sound has been described to remind you somewhat of your favourite 70’s B-Grader, full of dark, old samples and loops, live instruments, and distinct drums.Tom provides an impressive intro aptly entitled, The Saga Begins. This preps the listener for some top quality beats to come before Po comes crashing through “repping real hip hop, nothin’ but the rugged shit†on the title track. His expression effortlessly complements Tom’s production on motivational joint Roota to the Toota while his commanding voice and imposing tone almost drown Tom’s handiwork out in other tracks. Lessons in Drama rolls through like The Chronicles of Narnia ghetto edition as tough times take the spotlight. Po then compares women and candy in the pornographic, rock-esque Candy. Only problem is, he can’t get rid of them – just like a bad tooth ache. Po looks back and gets nostalgic on the guitar-strumming, bell-tolling, Now and Then cleverly stringing word association of the past and present together.
