Backstage getting ready for 'Once on This Island'...My interests? Music, singing, hanging out with friends for dinner, drinks, dance, stimulating conversation, etc. I have an extensive collection of music on vinyl, mostly rare stuff not yet on CD like the torch singers of the 40s and 50, Billie Holliday, Della Reese, Eartha Kitt and Judy Garland. But I run the gamut of periods, I still have my 80s picture sleeved 45s and allot of 12" singles from when I used to make dance tapes for parties. Yes! I have a turntable but it's a Technics DJ turntable, not those old clunky things from the 70s and 80s and I do buy CDs and have quite a collection of those too. Not a big moviegoer, but I occasionally like getting in a good movie too. I've been thinking allot lately about traveling when it's financially possible. I think that with age I've been more apt to wanting to experience different things and be more outgoing to meet new people and be less inhibited.THE STORY OF MY LIFE.... I Love To Singa!

But I've corresponded with so many interesting people on here who I have yet to meet in person and a few of them I already have and others I've already known for years. LOL!I wouldn't mind meeting other gay men around the L.B., L.A. and O.C. area. Also, I'd like to network with other singers, musicians, or songwriters out there needing a vocalist as I am available and know very few. Meeting other gay Cubans would be cool too. It's always nice to know there's more out there somewhere!

Like all kinds of music, it just depends on the artist. My tastes are eclectic. However, my singing influences would be Billie Holliday , Harry Connick Jr., Rick Astley, Michael Buble, Sting, George Michael, Chicago(the early stuff), Nat King Cole, Shirley Horn, Nancy Wilson, Frank Sinatra, Brenda Holloway, just to name a few. I particularly like all the Beatles material from the late 60s beginning with the Revolver and Rubber Soul albums. I'm also a big fan of the Supremes but ironically I particularly enjoy the latter day 70s lineups after Ms Ross left the group in 1970. RECOGNIZE THESE LADIES? THERE'S A CLUE BELOW... Television:
I LOVED Sex and The City(although it's over), Sopranos, E Entertainment, Bravo ('Dead Famous' to be exact), and Logo.
Books:
Depends on the subject. Mostly like biographies of celebrities or books on spirituality, such as Sylvia Browne's books. Currently reading a plethora of different ones that I can't seem to finish! Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield is one I'm hoping to finish one day. Very interesting, if you like DaVinci Code(which I haven't read yet) you just may like the Celestine Prophecy and find it just as interesting.
