About Me

If you really want to read my bio, it's in a blog at the top of the page, but I've decided that's not really who I am...you know what I mean? If you want to know more, ask.
I'm a singer/songwriter/musician/arranger (with a little bit of producer). I've played and written for a few people...some you may know, others you may not. Right now the emphasis is on songwriter, so if you're looking for good material, holla at me. Serious inquiries only (that sounds so cliche, but hopefully it will deter those who...aren't serious...right?).
Some of my songs are born out of experience, others out of experience coupled with a little imagination. I like to "people watch". There's so much material in the lives of those around us. A wise man once said "women are an inexplicable combination of beauty and mystery"...well...I'm not sure if he actually said that, but if he didn't, he should have...before I start making random statements, I think I'll bring it to a close.

Band Members: When I do live shows, I call on one of a number of friends: Calvin Parmer/ Dre Bowman/Myron Carroll - Bass (what's with bass players and Buffalo?); Joey Williams/Pete Alexander/Karl Hill/Jerome Brown - Drums (Drummers stay busy...you have to have a few to call on); Keys - Me; Lead Guitar - Bond...Jesse Bond; Sax - Ron James...when we're really tryin' to slay 'em.
Influences: Here's a random list of artists who have directly affected me and some more generally (if you listen you can probably tell the difference): Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, Bobby McFerrin, Commissioned, Take 6, Kim Burell, my cousins (Ann, Heather and Renee)...all 3 of them...they're that serious..., George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Frank McComb, Kevin Bond, Melvin Crispell, John Peters, The Clark Sisters, Rachelle Ferrell, Will Downing, James Brown, Prince, Luther Vandross, Freddie Jackson, D'Angelo, Qunicy Jones, Nat King Cole, BeBe & Marvin Winans...I'll add to the list later...

Current state of "Mainstream" music

I'm curious...are you satisfied with what you hear on the radio? Would you say that contemporary artists are producing music that will one day deserve the term "Old School"? Think about it. 30-4...
