About Me

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri, raised in Houston, TX. I attended Clark Atlanta University on full scholarship in 1993. I graduated with honors in 1997. While there I pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and served as Student Government President. That's also where I got the name "Cocktails" (long story).I've been in Entertainment my whole life. I co-founded the Live Poets Society with HBO Def Poet, Derrick "Abyss" Graham in 2000. We had a great run from 2000 to 2006. We dealt with HBO Def Poetry, MTV Road Rules, National Black Arts Festival, all of the radio stations. The list is extensive. Most recently, I am the founder and CEO of E Period, L.L.C., an events planning company. To my credit, I've opened for Roy Ayers, Angie Stone, Wil Downing, and hosted with Outkast. I've produced some of the biggest spoken word shows in the Atlanta area. Next steps are to work with the youth and help them realize their artistic gifts. My non-profit organization is Project A.R.M. (Atlanta Renaissance Movement). I write for the Atlanta Lowdown, distributon list of 30,000. I also am the author of "Cocktails Commentary: Volume 1". Who knows, I might step in the political arena in a few years. Until then, you can catch me on a stage anywhere in the nation.
