8HEAD is a story of determination and resilience. Formed in 1998, the original band was just two full-time members -- Dave Moore (drums), and Ethan Piper (guitar and vocals), with bass player Felix Chen handling gigs and studio work on an ad-hoc basis.
In 2002, The debut CD, 8HEAD , was released on Ethan and Dave's own little indie label called Noize Merchant. Available on
iTunes and at CDBaby.com.
Then the core line-up changed in 2004 with the addition of Alex Gomez (guitar), Ethan's NYC high-school buddy and former drummer for NY/LA band Your Mom.
The band is now readying their 2nd album (no title yet) for release in late 2007. Over 35 songs were written for this album, enough for 3 records!!! With the completion of the new Noize Merchant Studios in NYC's legendary SOHO district, 8HEAD is now working on finishing the new record and helping friends like Dangerman, Bruno, and several other NY music scene acts get their music out to the world as well.
Three passionate musicians stubborn enough to stick it during the lean times, have come back strong with new music and a powerful if non-conventional band. 8HEAD stands before the world- ready to rock. This music is their life's work and they are proud that they are still together and still motivated as hell to keep writing and perfroming new music.
