About Me
Who is Yosh? Well for starters he resides in a north eastern suburb of the Dallas, TX area on Eastern Hills Golf & Country Club. He is the owner of Nine-7-Two Energy Consultants which is a company specializing in partnering investors with resource development companies to drill for natural gas & oil in the continental U.S.( www.nine-7-two.com ). Not originally from Texas, but has been living here a for about 5 yrs. He is originally from all over for his father was a US Air force Officer for 25 yrs. He & his family have lived in the west, east, mid west, south, & even over seas in multiple countries of Europe for many years. Growing up being a military brat, a former U.S. Elite Judo athlete, & a working musician... Yosh has always found it hard for his "boots to grow roots". His father is 1 of the H.S. national team coaches for U.S. Judo, as well as a highly respected coach, father, & husband of 35+ yrs to Yosh's rock... his mother. Through thick & thin the 1 thing that he attributes much of his success to is the role models his parents have played & continue to play in his life. Yosh is the youngest of 3 brothers, & much to no one's surprise is the "black sheep" of the family. He has been an Elite Judo Athlete for the U.S. as a jr & sr competitor, but now is no longer competitive. He likes to teach when he can find time to, but w/ running a company, & still aspiring to accomplish himself in music the trick is finding the time to. He's been writing & composing original music since he was 15 yrs old when only first picking up the guitar 1 yr prior. "Yosh" or "Yoshi" was in the popular acoustic duo out of St. Louis called "Sully-N-Yosh". He has since moved out of the area with Sully, his dear friend & former cohort still residing there. With reunions being few & far between they work individually doing solo projects, but maybe 1 day they'll colloborate again for ol' times sake. With over 40 originals to this point & still going strong 1 of Yosh's main focuses right now is to put together a new album, new band, new sound, & get it out to the world. The material is there, & now currently he's working with tremondously talented musicians to put into motion that exact course of action. With his lyrics being a medley of styles influenced by the flowing techniques of hip hop, alternative, as well as the more conventional styles has given him a unique ability to put poetry into motion. That mixed with his unique approach to playing guitar has spawned something that you will find to be completely different then that which you've heard before yet at the same time giving you that warm familiar feeling that only your favorite songs can do. Is it his rhythms or is it his rhymes? Yosh says, "I hear music in everything, & everywhere. I hear it in the busy downtown streets of the city to the peaceful sounds of the backroads of the country. I hear it in the beautiful things in life, as well as in the ugliness that corodes us. It's hard to explain, but if I had to try I would say that it's like all my senses from hearing, tasting, touching, smelling, & seeing are attuned to my creativity. Many tell me that this is a blessing, & I do not disagree for that is why I do what I do. However, I believe that this is a curse as well. Much like if you beleive in good then you must beleive in evil. You can't have 1 without the other. I find myself drawn to the tradgic & chaotic mess that life can be just as much or sometimes even more as I do the serene & peaceful calm that life can be. This consumes me... my mind, body, & soul. This is my blessing. This is my curse". ~Yosh~
