Robin | The Monolith Deathcult

Our lives are based on what is reasonable and common sense; truth is apt to be neither.

About Me

28-year old BSc student of Psychology and singer / fretless bassist of The Monolith Deathcult (www.monolith-deathcult.com). Here's a list of meaningful/less*) other bands and projects:
Trailor Thrash [founding member, status: active] - Trucking Country&Western cast in a Thrash metal cask. I do vocals and bass for this.
Death Kristjan [founding member, status: cryo chamber] - Mostest treu not nice blakc metall! Vocals, drums.
VATT [founding member, status: dead?] - One-off allround metal cover band, with a heavy accent on ingesting alcohol. Bass.
Exposing Innards [status: dead] - Technical death metal not unlike Suffocation and Cryptopsy (walking on eggs here). Fretted bass, backup vocals.
Slayne [status: dead] - Very brutal old-school death metal where I did a nice George Fisher impression. Vocals.
Since 2000, I've appeared on 3 full-length albums and 4 MCD's and done over 100 gigs with my bands in 10 European countries, hitting more than 5 European capitals.

My Interests

Music, British Literature, good food, travelling, older French cars (Citroen [DS/ID/CX/GS(A)/BX/XM], playing bass and collecting huge mounds of useless trivia about bass equipment.

I'd like to meet:

Everyone I'd like to meet is dead. Meh, tough luck. Well, maybe some people from British comedy series. I'd like to meet Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, but they're not dead, so this appears to be in violation of my first statement. That's it, no more coffee for me.

Music:

Death Metal, some black metal, Country (Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr, etc.), Natalie Imbruglia, in short, I play anything that people find obnoxious and repellent.

Movies:

The Big Lebowski, Das Experiment, Dobermann, all Monty Python movies, Trainspotting, Ali G, Borat

Television:

The Fast Show, A bit of Fry and Laurie, Blackadder, Monty Python, Not the Nine O'Clock News, Absolute Power, Alas Smith and Jones and many, many more, wuss-like things like E.R., Cold Feet and Ballykissangel and Saturday Cooking on BBC1 (when they still had AWT on, that is).

Books:

Anything by Thomas Hardy, especially The Return of the Native and Jude the Obscure. George Orwell - 1984, Aldous Huxley - Brave new World, Joseph Heller - Catch-22, Anthony Burgess - 1985 & A Clockwork Orange, Stephen Fry - The Hippopotamus & Paperweight, James Joyce - Dubliners, Aleksandr Solzhenytsyn - The Gulag Archipelago, Friedrich Nietzsche - The Antichrist & Thus Spake Zarathustra, Jerzy Kosinski - Being There, and loads more.

Heroes:

Stephen Fry, Tony Choy, Alex Webster, Steve DiGiorgio

Thomas Hardy

Wacken 2006

Damn, that's a big crowd. Just back from my first ever Wacken, and I thoroughly enjoyed Atheist, Carnivore and Morbid Angel. And beer. And I got sunburnt - and now I look like a strawberry. No pics pl...
