From early on, Steve has been an integral part of Montreal’s world re-known house music scene. From his beginnings as doorman at the cities hottest clubs, Bear soon migrated to his natural habitat in the DJ booth. From the moment he stepped behind the decks, Bear began to build his rock solid following. In the six years he has been spinning, he has played Montreal’s finest clubs. From the world famous Club Stereo, to his numerous residencies, Steve has been playing to glowing reviews – both from the dance floor, and the host of world class talent he has had the privilege to play with – including, Angel Moraes, Vibe, Junior Vasquez, Hex Hector, and Victor Calderone.
In addition to his work behind the decks, Steve’s work in the studio is beginning to capture the attention of the industry. His chunky, funky debut remixes for Redzonerouge of ‘Shawn Christopher, Don’t Loose the Magic’, ‘For Your Love, ft Laurell, ‘Empty Spaces, ft. Dana Divine’, and ‘What I’m Saying, ft Dana Divine’ - have been very well received, and have already been licensed to Tommy Boy, Tweek’d Records, Metropole Casagrande, and Mile End Records. His debut original production is scheduled for release this winter.
Most recently, Steve has taken over the reigns of as label boss and Head A&R at Montreal house label Redzonerouge (redzonerouge.com). His stated objective is to provide an outlet for Montreal’s talent rich production scene.
