Salaams/Peace, People! I've now been happily married for just over 6 months, working by day as a teaching assistant in a local special needs school and by night as a youth worker. Life in my third job as a housewife is sweet, I consider myself a savvy wholefood chef, keeping true to my concern for the virtues of nutritional and ethical food. I love my food!
I've also followed in the steps of the majority of my nearest and dearest, debuting on my first open mic at Speaker's Corner in Brixton back in April and recording my first 16-bars of damning revolutionary force (if I may say so myself!) which will feature on my husband's upcoming album 'As A Man Thinks...'. So watch this space for Mujer Guerrera spittin alongside Wukash/DSM and Mavrik/Realms of Rhyme on another prime cut of a hip-hop beat produced by Julio Shanakee 'Fight Down Babylon'!
...and the battle, of course, continues. There is no progress without struggle, so Insh'Allah (God Willing) the voices of the voiceless will continue to be heard above the whirr of the wheels of the masons. Viva La Revolucion!
