The well-received debut album from MY INVENTION was recorded in Dublin city centre in the glaring heat of the summer in 2004. Released independently the critics called it a mixture of grand ambition and straight ahead pop sensibility Today after relocating to Kilkenny, building their own studio, playing in venues nationwide and basically living it twenty four seven they are writing new material (on a daily basis) and spiking their homemade lemonade with dashes of americana and alt country rock with a touch of grit thrown in for good measure. Infectious hooks imaginative arrangements and thoughtful lyrics are the ingredients to the refreshing taste of MY INVENTION. The new EP lo-fire works (recorded at lantern inn studios) has already been praised by Hotpress saying the lo-fi approach and the shift in styles to a dirtier sound reaps boundless rewards.Americana executed with no little panache Currently MY INVENTION are networking with bands around the country, making new friends, playing to new audiences and gathering up new followers to join the crowds of people already coming to the live shows.
