The beautiful, vivacious international singer Haifa is a rising star in music worldwide. She crafts soulful songs that speak to everyone. Born and reared in Great Britain, Haifa’s influences range from Dusty Springfield and Tracy Chapman, to Ray La Montagne. Having been on the entertainment circuit for over eight years, Haifa is finally coming into her own and getting the attention and recognition she deserves. Her style of acoustic music is heartfelt, touching, and has her audiences mesmerized in just a moment.
Haifa catapulted into the public eye in 2001 on the UK’s “Pop Idol,†where she wowed Simon Cowell and the rest of the panel and stormed into the final 12. Afterwards, she was highlighted on “This Morning,†Heat, New Woman, Mizz, and many more. When she was finally released from her contract with ITV, she signed her second recording contract with Ministry of Sounds’ Incentive label. Haifa toured for two years, then finally decided to cut loose and see what other opportunities she could carve out for herself in the universe of music.
After she was approached by Sony in 2004, Haifa entered the Eurovision song contest. Her live performance on BBC primetime once again brought her great exposure and interest from the public and the recording industry. Still, Haifa wanted more.
ITV’s XFactor followed and became an emotional rollercoaster for Haifa. Simon Cowell once again backed her as a serious contender. Placed in Sharon Osbournes’ group, Haifa made the final seven and flew to Los Angeles for the grueling process to follow. Sharon told her that, “You've got a great smoky voice, which is so natural, it's not put on, I mean you could never put that on. You've got a really great tone to your voice.†And as Simon put it, “Great! You've got a nice voice. Great looking girl. Very commercial, very likeable. I think you have something very, very good about you.†The exceptional ITV footage and great support from the public helped to lessen the sense of disappointment when she narrowly missed out on the live show. Once again, Haifa’s strength of character, awesome determination, and resilience prevailed.
Now that she is working with T. J. Cases and Cut & Play Records, Haifa’s debut album is set to launch her into the public’s affections once again as she crosses generational, racial, and gender lines with her unique, warm, caressing voice.
