About Me
Hey Hey, my name is Josh. I'm originally from Brownwood Texas but have lived in Austin since 1995. I play guitar with my good friend Van Wilks. We've been playing "Unplugged" gigs together for about 10 years. I have also been playing with his electric band as a rhythm guitar player. I play the second lead on the first track "Would You Go My Way" from the new Van Wilks record "Running From Ghosts." Check it out on Itunes. We plan to do an acoustic record soon. I had a short lived band called 11th Hour. Nancita, Piano, Geoff Kaiser (Solo Artist-Funky Brass Factory)- The Guru, Bass, and vocals. Paul Roraback (The Illustrated Band-Lisa Tingle-Gramma Train-Monte Montgomery)- drummer, percussionist, and Alex Bolton- Lead Vocals. Alex and I played with a local band called Running From Noah for about a year. I was the lead guitar player and Alex was a backup vocalist. We all have other obligations/bands so we don't play together as much as we did in the old days. Right now I concentrate on my wife, my awesome little boy, playing with the Van Wilks Band, and teaching guitar lessons at Van's Guitarland Studios. See blog for more info.
Ive also been fortunate to perform with some other great local musicians as well. Yes I'm a name dropper.. Charlie Fountain, Mark Andes, Craig Nietfeld, Nick Travis, Dave Ray, Dave Sebree, Chris Skiles, Chet Himes, Dean Seltzer and the Redneck Mothers, Steve Samuel, Dave Cunnigham, Ian Bailey, Karen Biller, Lisa Tingle, Willie Scoggins, Shane Parker, Renee French, Bruce Robison, Brady Seals, Michael Blake, Kristine Alpert, Katherine Denise, and my Dad.
