About Me

I am a bassist in Austin Texas, but play many other instruments and have been writing and recording my solo stuff, more of a personal archive than anything, but hopefully listenable.
I started playing piano at the age of six at my mother's insistance (thanks mom!!!) and have a fair level of proficiency on (in no particular order) piano/keyboards, trombone, trumpet, tuba/euphonium, violin, cello, upright bass, electric bass, acoustic and electric guitar, flute, recorder, and voice; I have played or been involved with a wide variety of musical styles, including pop/rock, jazz, blues, big band, dixieland, classical/symphonic, opera, country, reggae, techno/electronica, and industrial; I own a sizeable PA system and am proficient in live sound reinforcement and lighting, the concepts and application of acoustical engineering, analog and digital recording both as a musician and an engineer/producer, music composition and theory, & can read scores, charts, or play by ear; I have a working knowledge of the legal system as it pertains to the entertainment industry; and last but not least have some skill in physical repair, from the stage gear to the band van.

I never really listened to DY much, not being a country afficianado - but a friend had a CD of his in her truck I was borrowing to move gear in, and I realized I knew most of the songs on the album - ...
