The Plateros, a family Blues Band from a small Indian Reservation west of the Rio Grande right off I-40 heading west at exit 131 to Tohajiilee, "Drawing of Water" ( In Navajo ) 35 miles west of Albuquerque New Mexico ...Within the last year this new band has played at some major festivals and shows from Seattle to Florida and Nashville. With 14 year old lead guitar player Levi, they have given their audience a new exciting performance, with a hard bluezy Tex/Mex sound combined with a positive message of hope and grace.
In 2000 Levi was playing drums and moved to guitar in 2003. In the Winter of 2004, Levi and Douglas, together, started playing and practicing almost every day after work and school. In November, Murphy sat in with them at the small home studio/ practice room just to see what they knew, hours later he found out that the boys had been given a gift. From that moment on Levi would press his dad to continue to practice with them. In January of 2005, they played their first engagement. "It was amazing", as one women said when he heard The Plateros. The Platero family is thankful and give praises to the Lord Jesus for His blessing and wonderful word that is to continue in this Family.
In March of 2007 The Plateros were ARTISTS OF THE MONTH at the IICOC.
In 2007 The Plateros were Nominated BEST BLUES SONG by the New Mexico Music Awards.
In 2007 The Plateros were Nominated BEST BLUES RECORDING by The NATIVE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS. for more info go to www.votenative.com
