Aasa

For English speaking people, the name Aasa may seem difficult to understand, and it may seem strange to have a name that almost exclusively consists of the letter A, but pronounced ’orsa’, the name refers to the Viking Gods and Goddesses, as well as to Nordic queens. Living in London, I am forunate to be able to develop my sound through working with what must be said to be one of the hottest teams in London right now for musical production; Donn Lo/Mark Ralph. I have just finished my debut album, Angels & Stars, which will be released very soon! It has been a two year long journey of songwriting and finding my sound, that is now coming together. Not only has Mark Ralph/Donn Lo contributed with live instruments such as drums, guitars, bass, and even mandolin to make my songs come alive, but they’ve always stayed positive and encouraged me throughout the process. Also, thanks to Camilla Rognes for wonderful violins. It is definitely thanks to you guys that the album has come out this great! Angels & Stars has recently been mastered by John Davis at the Alchemy in London, and sounds amazing now. John has mastered the Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Snowpatrol and Natalie Imbruglia among many others, and I’m very excited about the result! I’ve just added the final versions of some of the tracks, so have a listen and see for yourself. Soon, I’ll be filming videos at MTV in Camden.
