Gatecrash The Hate Campaign

About Me

2008 dawns the arrival of JMC's latest release ‘Gatecrash the Hate Campaign’. 9 tracks of their cunningly calculated brew of rock/metal, recorded once again at the infamous Washoose in Scotland, studio of none other than Crawfordjohn's "Bone".Following the release of the 2nd JMC album ‘RVR’, in 2007, the band have created a healthy intrigue for their music, which continues to push boundaries and blow people away with its savage delivery.Apart from their own attention-grabbing headline shows JMC have recently played support to metal legends Diamond Head, and hard rockers Buckcherry, as well as NYC-glam-rocker Adam Bomb. Furthermore, during successful tours of the UK and Europe, JMC blasted through an hour of guitar based debauchery from their rapidly growing, renowned repertoire to mass acclaim.‘Gatecrash the Hate Campaign’ takes the band's renowned riffology to a new level of complexity, with some serious axe grinding moments. Featuring dynamic tunes and melodies, coupled with the lyrical energy and personal accounts of frontman Justin McConville (vocals/guitar), Nikki Hell (guitar), Andrew Burton (bass/vocals), Dave Richardson (Bass), and Derek Rae (Drums). In recent media, the band has seen their popularity spread across their home country, and beyond. Their first official video ‘Mile Wide Spaces’ was screened nationwide on Propeller TV, the digital music channel. ‘Left In The Shade’ and ‘It's Time’ from RVR received deserved radio play from various stations in Scotland, swiftly becoming local favourites. Meanwhile, fan’s favourite ‘Garden of Sorrow’ was used as the title track on Sky Sport's ‘World Championship Windsurfing’ event earlier this year. As the noise from the band continues to echo on the live circuit, XFM announced that new single ‘Golden Summer’ had won their ‘Heatseeker’ competition in May 2008.Song Overview of GTHC‘Gatecrash The Hate Campaign’ is the most compositional JMC album yet. Kicking off with ‘The Trigger’, a rapid gallop of guitar, bass and drums that urges you to pull "the trigger inside" it soon powers into future release, ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ which asks the eternal rhetorical question and features the killer lines "…on the road to Damascus waiting for the lights to shine" and "…she asked 'if you were the devil would you want to be the only one?”. Gentler tune ‘My Black Rose’, the reflective ‘Golden Summer’, and mournful ‘Beautiful World’ showcase the more delicate side of the band, reflecting on the passing of a time you thought would never end. ‘Storm of the Century’ is a track loosely based on the Stephen King book of the same name, and portrays a feeling of darkness and desire for self-satisfaction. At the core of the album are 2 epic tracks entitled ‘Stop The World I Want To Get Off’ and ‘The Maker’ respectively. They are a musical opus, a social commentary, a battle cry, and a reflection on life. Complimented by an intense sound-scape, driving rhythms, and incredible musicianship, these tracks show the band at their most creative. The album closes with the reprise ‘Start The World I Want To Get On’, heralding the positive realisation that the end of one thing is the beginning of another. In summary, JMC deliver what they promise. A ball-breaking combination of killer riffs and lyrical prowess, coupled with a musical ability to challenge that of their peers.
