Fury UK + Support
fury uk was formed initially in 2002 in Manchester, uk. Since that date they’ve developed an ever-increasing reputation for captivating live performances….inspired by the guitar wizardry of chris Appleton & a selection of hard rock compositions with the fantastic ingredients of hooks, time changes, key changes, big solos & meaningful lyrics. A band with riffs, attitude & a bedrock rhythm section to die for.
Influences are best-summarised as iron maiden – meets – rush with a hint of bon jovi. There’s diversity amongst the songs but overall Fury UK is a blend of melodic hard rock & metal, with a progressive twist.
The band released a debut album in November 2005. “my tomorrow” has been well-received by critics & fans alike & was undoubtedly the album the band’s fans had been waiting for. Live performances came thick & fast during 2006 including various headline shows such as Bolton Metal & oxjam festivals. With increasing touring, press & radio coverage worldwide, & a follow-up album for release in 2007, the stage is set for fury uk to explode into the international rock awareness in 2007.

Bombskare
Bombskare were formed in the last years of the twentieth century and are famed the length and breadth of the British Isles as the one of the best blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You've heard this spiel before so lets cut to the chase. You know who we are, what we do, and when we do it. Our music is live. All live, never on a floppy disc. Over the years we have been privileged to play with hundreds of great bands, such as Big Hand, Joe Viterbo, Suppository Business, Contra, The Amphetameanies, The Skarsoles, The Happy Spastics, Pummel, Mister Z, Das Contras, Tyrant Lizard Kings, Taking Chase, Pork Pie, Dick Dangerous and the Love Bastards, Fat Ben and the Looters, Disciples of Panic Earth, Misled Youth, Fountainbridge Collective, The G Men, Miyagi, The Splitters, The Hustlers, One Man Race, Shrinking Violets, The Red Vans, Ben Cozine, Focus, The One O Clock Guns, Esparanza, My Own Religion, This R2 Tone, Salsa Celtica, Matted Dreads, Croft No. 5, Peatbog Faeries, Diwan, Gecko 3, Wayne’s Paycheck, The Fat Cats, Man Of The Hour, Mr Greenfinger, Certain Death, Amplifico, Surfing Pinheads, Root System, Mutterfly, Carpe Diem, Skaville UK, Baker’s Dozen, Bulb, Mark Foggo, Swellbelly's, and lots and lots of others, but also Bad Manners, The Selecter, The Beat, Laurel Aitken, Chumbawumba, as well as homegrown heroes such as Skaramanga (who were awesome). "Their electric pulsating set was high tempo thundering Ska, which stirred up the packed out venue to fever pitch. It was a set of their pure original material, except for a blinding version of "54-46 was My Number" which turned the crowd to maniac level" Paul [email protected]

The Big Hand + Support
Drug is a word that in modern day society is often looked at with hatred and fear. It is a word that young children have ingrained into them as something that is bad and should be avoided. What if you can get the same effect from dancing yer ass off and finishing the night with a huge smile on your face?? Music is a drug and Big Hand deliver a brand of music you cant get the same feeling from anywhere else where you dance and dance until your ass falls on the floor and you forget any worries you may have and grin like a mad fool so that your face hurts and everybody thinks you're on drugs theyve never heard of but they really want some too. (London Barfly 2005)
The new way to have a truly good time has arrived! Having already conquered Edinburgh and London with their incredible live shows and unforgettable songs, and with a line up now crystallized and polished like a diamond, Big Hand are now ready to transcend their cult underground status and to take their unique brand of Zorbic music to the unsuspecting, hungry masses in every corner of the world…
Big Hand have already shared stages with the likes of Reel Big Fish, The Beat, The Sunshine Underground, Mum-ra, Neville Staples, The Selecter, Bad Manners, Frankie Miller, The Bhundu Boys, The Slackers, The Fat Cats, The Toasters, St. Petersberg Brass Quartet, Babyhead and Joe Walsh (The Eagles), as well as playing legendary venues and festivals throughout the UK and Europe including: The Barrowlands (Glasgow), The Cavern Club (Liverpool), The Trojan Sound System at Notting Hill Carnival (London), The Astoria (London), Princes Street Gardens Edinburgh (Nationally televised live), Shambala (Plymouth) and Driesrock (Belgium). Having recently rocked out an all star Haloween shindig hoasted by goth director Tim Burton and his crew. The band also opened the Edinburgh Fringe festival this year to a heaving throng of media and performers. Along the way they have captivated a crazily diverse set of audiences, ranging from 2 to 10,000, including: high society fashion partys, hippy peace camps, university students, corporate parties, old-school skansksters, as well as various indie, funk, metal, punk, rock, dub and reggae club nights, not to mention providing the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with song and dance every summer. Big Hand play every gig they can feasibly do (over 100 in 2005! and 105 already in 2006) and are always asked back.
Big Hand have just started to stamp their mark on the nations airwaves as now 5 week record breaking winners of The Unsigned Clash on Virgin Xtremes 'The Edge' Show. Their recent recordings have also started to seep onto underground radio picking up plays on stations such as Totalrock, Rebel Radio and Scooterist radio.
Over the the last 12 months, Big Hand have self recorded, produced and released the ‘Wrong & Right’ EP (April 2005) and the ‘Dark & Light’ EP (August 2005) from their ‘Ruffhand’ studios in Edinburgh and the ‘Day & Night’ EP - the 3rd and final of the set, recorded in SAE Studios in Glasgow. Work has already begun on their debut album ‘The Deliverance’ (WT) in Air Studios North London (owned by uber indie stars Coldplay). Early work from the album has already been used in the primetime ITV drama ‘The English Hareem’, aired natinonwide on 27th December 2005. Over the summer the band also managed to take a day to record a limited edition 7" which is due for release early 2007.
Big Hand have 4 truly unique frontmen, from the “heartbreaking harmonies” and magnetism of the two lead singers, ‘Lolo’ and ‘Pabs’, to the manic hypnotic gravity defying antics and musical showmanship of bassist Luke ‘Black Elk’ Martin and Phil ‘is he on drugs?’ Ramsay. With dates confirmed throughout the UK and Europe including Glasgow, Manchester, Edinburgh, Brighton, Birmingham, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Bristol and London, and with a plethora of summer festivals on offer and tours in Europe & America planned for the year 2007, the four-piece are now set on world domination…
“Don’t let them tell you you’re unique” Phil, Tim, Paul & Luke (AKA Big Hand).

Thursday 3rd May
Kid Ego + Majik + The Sold + Rocketfox
Kid Ego
Kid Ego formed in 2004 in the North of England also home to one of our biggest inspirations DEF LEPPARD for us it's all about the rock n' roll!
In 2004 it was time to escape the decadence, peer pressure and dysfunction that so many fall under during the early stages of adulthood.
Zakk writes "I knew this guy who played the bass and had met him several times at Leeds Festival. He was skinny covered in tattoos and had hair that would give Motley Crue a run for their money, so as long as he could play I new he would be perfect and play, he very much could! His name is Chris Rooke and heavily influenced by the 70's and 80's rock and punk scene, he has the look, the enthusiasm and certainly the ability to become a rock star".
We auditioned and then played with some great musicians but you know when the chemistry is ready to kick! After several months Phil Morphit joined us with a strong metal guitar background that benefited our song writing as we can create a wide variety of rock sounds. With his insane thick dreadlocks and a notorious frown for the camera, he's our man on the rhythm guitar.
Until we found a permanent drummer, Rooke knew a young kid called Nick Miller who offered his services as a temp until we found someone more permanent. Nick is the nephew of Steve Roberts, the original drummer from the notorious punk band the UK SUBS. Little did we know that our first rehearsal with him he would blow us away with his natural sense of rhythm and intense energy like a madman with a pair of sticks!
Now all we needed was a KICKING lead guitar player who could lay down some dirty solos! Many of our close friends play in local bands, one being Henry Bird aka ‘Birdy’. Birdy has 4 years experience playin' with a great York band called COMA. Due to his passion and drive to become a successful musician and tour the world, he joined us, completing the final line up.
After agreeing on a well-suited name we not only became a rockband, we became a gang. Heavily influenced by stadium rock, we play powerful and meaningful rock music that makes you want to push down harder on that accelerator.
As for our live shows and yeah! it's all about the live shows! we like to create an intense display of theatre that reflects the emotion and energy driven by each particular song. Rook's dramatic stage energy can be compared to Angus Young on speed. Birdy and Phil play like wild men posessed. Little Niki on drums has the showmanship of a young Tommy Lee. As a front man I look to my two favourite idols on stage Steve Tylor and Freddy Mercury for inspiration. With a combination of raw energetic rock songs, guitar solos, bass and drum solos, we always give 110%.
Giving the audience their moneys worth!
Kid Ego are five young unpredictable musicians who all share the same aspirations, which is to tour the world performing to as many people as possible. The songs we write based upon life’s experiences, good or bad. Either way come along for the ride!
Majik
Shot out of Nottingham from a world of woodland outlaws and stylish boutiques, Majik are on a three-man mission to resurrect the psychedelic corpse of funk-rock. Taking the time to breathe life into a forgotten genre before dressing it in denim flares, teaching it how to seduce womankind and slapping its arse on the way out, the lads are ready to melt hearts, make waves and get those feet jiving again.
It may have taken ten years to take shape, but 2007 will be this band's year. In the same town where soul legend Edwin Starr died, the trio have paid their dues on the unsigned scene with nothing but a stern face, alcohol in their gut and a mirror in their pocket. But now, with a record deal with independent label Rock Revolution freshly inked, Majik are ready to take their sound to the masses.
Think Quentin Tarantino directing Pulp Fiction: The Musical. Think James Brown singing along to a Led Zeppelin riff while Elvis and Bootsy Collins fight over a Hendrix guitar lick and you're almost there. With influences ranging from Aerosmith to Funkadelic, Cream to Guns N' Roses and much more. The next step for the band is the recording of a new EP and under the guidance of producer Will Jackson (Kaiser Chiefs, The Music) the band will enter the studio this autumn to put their groove onto disc.
On the road, the band bare their souls and their chests in the name of rock 'n' roll. In their time they've shown Nottingham what runs deep in the River Trent but now their mission lies nationwide, and their first hurdle came in September. Aboard the "Ignite The Tide" tour, supporting York-based sleaze-rockers Kid Ego, the band left the dingy rock holes behind and set up their kit in some of the most prestigious venues in the UK, including a hometown show in the main room at Rock City.
They are making sure their hair is big, their shirts are ripped and their trousers are tight. Prepare yourself, because with a rider consisting of a pack of Rennie, a bottle of Pantene Pro V and an extra towel, the lads are packed and ready to make mankind sing, dance and make love to the sound of Majik.
The Sold
The Sold are a Fife band made up of 4 talented and dedicated individuals who were destined to get together for the music. The line up is as follows. Ross Adam - Vocals, Guitar... Callum Jenkins - Drums... Austin Young - Bass... Alan Douglas - Lead Guitar... The band have spent the last few months working on original material and currently have a powerful in yer face live set. All band members were previously in other bands and have vast gigging experience however the desire to produce original material at the highest level determined the formation of The Sold. The name originated because the band sold out of mainstream living to concentrate on a music career, they are very talented performers / song writers, they follow a vision in a structured manner and are a pleasure to work with, watch and listen to. Are you Sold yet? It would be rude if we did not share our life with you all, we're sold on it so c'mon get Sold. Live Music Rules.
Rocketfox
Launchpad records' most recent signing, RocketFox is already a name synonymous with success, unbeatable live performances and simple, down to earth hard work and raw talent.
The Glasgow 3 piece have only been together since Feb 06 and have already played over 70 shows up and down Scotland. Their infectious hooklines and massive choruses with stadium-singalong potential join forces on the live stage with the free and outrageously untameable spirits of the three 22 year olds.
Under influences, they've been known to scribble words like Foo Fighters, The Subways, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, New Found Glory, Avril Lavigne, Fightstar, Kelly Clarkson, Biffy Clyro, McFly, Thin Lizzy, Busted, Funeral For A Friend, Rage Against the Machine and Blink 182.
With their second single already selling by the truckload, a full UK tour shaping up for March and April 2007, a headline slot at Glasgow's Barrowlands in August and major label interest, things are looking more than a little bit promising for the bands future. Make sure you catch RocketFox at one of their many forthcoming shows!

LAP + Support
Kerrang! - LAP - Life Among People (Distort Manchester) - KKKK's "By refusing to stick to one genre LAP succeed in creating something that exists outside the hive mentality prevalent in much of the Rock Scene right now. "Life Among People" is high on energy and packed with promise; seek it out"
cd baby "the best heavy rock band with no care for image"
LAP - METAL HAMMER - incoming section Despite having only three players, the group muster more than a little noise, from the deft and intricate to the visceral and uninhibited.
Black Velvet magazine - Life Among People (Distort Manchester) - 4/5 Those ready for a breath of fresh air in the rock industry should prepare to welcome LAP into their lives The British trio were almost unable to afford to finish life among people, but once youve heard the album itself, youll be more that glad you did. LAP have produced a solid and groundbreaking release which they deserve to capitalise on.
rocksound magazine - Life Among People (Distort Manchester) - 7/10 LAP create some interesting slabs of British-tinged hardcore punk, with a brutal metal twist, and for a part-time band releasing records on a bedroom label, rock sound has to admit this is flabbergastingly good. Consistent recording of this quality will not, shall not and cannot go unnoticed for too much longer.

The Lurkers + Support
Inspired by American bands such as the Ramones and the New York Dolls, the British beat boom of the sixties and Glam Rock acts like Slade and Sweet, THE LURKERS formed in West London in mid 1976 and quickly forged their own identity with their own brand of punk tunes and lyrics encompassing subjects such as social unacceptability and personal politics. The original line up was: Guitar Vocals Bass Drums The band built up a huge loyal following around the punk heyday of 1977 and signed to Beggar's Banquet where they scored five top forty hits between 1977 and 1979 . They also appeared on Top of the Pops and many other television shows and became regulars on the popular Radio One John Peel Show. Due to changing musical tastes within the band and Beggar's Banquet concentrating on their new signing Gary Numan, The Lurkers decided to call it a day in 1980 but two years later a sudden resurgence of interest in the band inspired them to get back together to record for origional manager Mike Stone's Clay label, home of emerging hardcore punks Discharge and GBH. In 1984, new singer Mark Fincham ran off to work the drag clubs of Berlin and the band once again folded. Original bassist Arturo Bassick got the whole thing going again in 1987 after a chance meeting with the huge German Punk band Die Toten Hosen, all of whom were massive Lurkers fans. Die Toten Hosen financed the comeback album, 'Wild Times Again', which launched The Lurkers' career once more and they have continued ever since, with one linup or another. The line up now is: Arturo Bassick - bass and vocals (also plays for 999) Nellie - drums (ex Hangups and Fiend) Dave Kemp - Guitar Well what happened to the original line up? "Well none of them are interested in doing the band anymore and you can't hold a gun to their heads. Pete Stride has totally given up gigging, and didn't like touring anyway. Esso is working in mental health and hasn't played in years, Howard Wall hasn't sung for any band since 1982, and like the rest of the old guys, I havn't heard from him in 20 years. I still love playing, so like a lot of the other 1977, 78, 79, punk bands still out there, I'm the one early member whose putting his energy into keeping our music alive".

The Vibrators + Support
With a career lasting twenty-nine years, vocalist/guitarist IAN "KNOX" CARNOCHAN, bassist PAT COLLIER, guitarist JOHN ELLIS and drummer EDDIE originally formed the VIBRATORS in February 1976, and their first gig was supporting THE STRANGLERS at Hornsey Art College in North London. They supported THE SEX PISTOLS at the 100 CLUB and were one of the bands playing at the now legendary 100 CLUB PUNK ROCK FESTIVAL, where as well as doing their own set they supported guitar hero CHRIS SPEDDING. CHRIS recommended the band to his then record company, RAK. The band's debut single "WE VIBRATE" came out in November (one of the first punk singles) and was followed two weeks later by CHRIS SPEDDING'S "POGO DANCING" single with the VIBRATORS as the band on that. Early in 1977 the band supported IGGY POP (with DAVID BOWIE on keyboards) on a UK tour, then moved to EPIC RECORDS and released the classic "BABY BABY" single, followed by their first album "PURE MANIA" which spent five weeks in the UK Top 75, peaking at number 49. A second single from the album - but a live version - "LONDON GIRLS", came out in the summer of 1977 and was promoted by a tour supporting ex-MOTT THE HOOPLE mainman IAN HUNTER. Bassist PAT COLLIER left soon after and was replaced by GARY TIBBS. The band released the single "AUTOMATIC LOVER" (March 1978), which not only reached 35 in the charts but also got the band on TOP OF THE POPS. A second LP, "V2" was released in April and reached number 33 in the British Charts, and is still regarded today as one of New Waves finest moments. JOHN ELLIS left soon after to follow a solo career and to work with PETER GABRIEL, and was replaced by DAVE BIRCH, whilst a fifth member was added with keyboard/saxophonist DON SNOW. However this line up of the band only recorded the "JUDY SAYS (KNOCK YOU IN THE HEAD)" single (a UK No 70 single in the summer of 1978). There then followed a new line up of the band: KNOX - guitar/vocals, EDDIE - drums, with new members BEN BRIERLY - bass, and GREG VAN COOK - guitar. This again proved to be short lived and KNOX left to have a go at being a solo artist towards the end of 1978. EDDIE carried on with the band, as well as drumming for THE INMATES (an R&B band). In early 1980 a more successful line up : KIP - vocals, EDDIE - drums, IAN WOODCOCK (ex-EATER) - bass, PHIL RAM - guitar, ADRIAN WYATT - guitar, signed to RAT RACE RECORDS. They released two singles "GIMME SOME LOVIN'" and "DISCO IN MOSCO", but the band split up at the end of the year. The original line up reformed in mid 1982 (KNOX, EDDIE, PAT COLLIER and JOHN ELLIS) and signed to ANAGRAM RECORDS, releasing a new version of "BABY BABY". This was followed by a single and album both called "GUILTY" before the band moved to RAM RECORDS, releasing the singles "MX AMERICA" and "FLYING HOME" and the LP "ALASKA 127" (named after PAT COLLIER'S studio). By mid 1985 the band had signed to CARRERE RECORDS for whom they recorded the "BABY BLUE EYES" single before moving back to RAM for the "FIFTH AMENDMENT" LP and "BLOWN AWAY BY LOVE" single. By the time the band signed to FM REVOLVER in mid 1986, PAT COLLIER had left to pursue a successful career producing bands, and was replaced by NOEL THOMPSON for the "VIBRATORS LIVE" LP. JOHN ELLIS then left (to become a full-time member of the STRANGLERS) and was replaced by MICKIE OWEN, and NOEL THOMPSON left and was replaced by MARK DUNCAN. The new line up released the "RECHARGED" album, the "STRING HIM ALONG" single and also the 1988's "MELTDOWN" album. MICKIE OWEN left and was replaced by NIGEL BENNETT (ex-MEMBERS) for the 1990's "VICIOUS CIRCLE" LP. This line up of the VIBRATORS toured regularly, and released a string of albums: "VOLUME TEN" (1990), "THE POWER OF MONEY" (a re-make compilation, 1993), "HUNTING FOR YOU" (1994), and "UNPUNKED" (an acoustic compilation album, 1996). 1990 lineup (left to right) Mark Duncan (bass), Eddie (drums), Knox (guitar/vocals), Nigel Bennett (guitar) In 1996, in their twentieth year, they started with a new line-up: KNOX - guitar/vocals, EDDIE - drums, with newcomers DARRELL BATH (ex- UK SUBS, CRYBABIES, DOGS D'AMOUR) - guitar, and NICK PECKHAM (ex- BIG BOY TOMATO) - bass, but by June that year they had become a three-piece (KNOX, NICK, and EDDIE). The band recorded the albums "FRENCH LESSONS WITH CORRECTION!" (1997) and "BUZZIN'" (1999). with the band doing extensive touring, (almost 100 gigs in 1999 - including the USA and Canada), plus the release of many albums. NICK PECKHAM (bass) left in Sepatember 1999 and was replaced by ROBBIE TART (ex- HEARTBREAK ANGELS). In 2002 the band released a new compilation of the first two albums the band recorded, closely followed by a new studio album ENERGIZE, both on Ian Grant's TRACK RECORDS. In September 2003 ROBBIE TART left and was replaced by PETE from Finnish band No Direction, and the band toured the UK and Europe with the UK Subs, doing really good business.
