::::*******At present I am in India until the beginning of May. So if I don’t get back to anyone or spend time checking out new artists/friends..…Its because the power strikes in India got the better of me....
or my search for something deeper and a quest to learn more about the kirtan songs /yoga took precedence for a while…
If possible I will be writing something from my travels.... but if not, I look forward to talking to anyone on my return.
Enjoy the music and .thankyou for reading…*******::::In the 80s I lived in Japan for 8 years. During this time I found myself recording and writing two Japanese dance producers Toshi and Kudo, Two of the main founders of the underground Japanese label MAJOR FORCE. We wrote and I sung the classic TRIBE OF LOVE and I also sang on (for those that know) Touch me take me(1990)....In 1991 I returned to London and started writing with another inovative dance producer TIM SIMENON (Bomb the Bass) and I co- wrote and sung the top ten hit. Winter in July....and various tracks on the unknown territory albumBetween then and now, there have been a few magical moments such as working with underground producers BUGZ IN THE ATTIC (Orin Walters and Daz I-Kue) on various tracks and others including WAI WAN, also a very gifted producer (you can hear these songs on my web site in the discography section)....this was alos the start of a new musical journey for me and gave me the insight to a different voice and different way.Now in 2006 I have my first solo album The Boy across the Road . Which really came about by meeting the (boy across the road,) Andy Mitchell. (Aka P*R*O*T*O*A*N*G*E*L).
Andy took a collection of songs and brought them to life…including a re interpretation of the Bomb The Bass track WINTER IN JULY.
This is simple, honest, acoustic, real music about real emotions and everyday feelings and fears we all have………nothing pretentious or particularly clever ……just songs from my heart and life experience.and musically using a bit of this and a bit of that....and not much to dance to..(-: proberlly more take a bath and chill..I have recorded a Sanskrit prayer/kirtan chant on the album as this is also a direction I feel my voice/life is lending itself to now alongside this album.
