No one ever saw it coming . . . A new brush fire is blazing its way out of the South in the form of MC/Producer J-Blaze, blazing a trail for the rebirth of Hip-Hop. When you blend honest lyricism, infectious flow, and marketability . . . You play with fire! No one ever thought anything other than a strong wind would come out of the South. This 25-year-old inferno, J-Blaze, was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC. He developed a love for music in his early years growing up in a strict Christian household, where Gospel music played faithfully. Blaze's love for music flourished as he took piano lessons and played the saxophone and drums as a child. In addition to listening to Gospel and Christian hip-hop, J-Blaze was exposed to mainstream hip-hop artists such as Tribe Called Quest, LL Cool J, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z and Nas, whose tracks floated around the neighborhood. From that point on, J-Blazes life was transformed. His friends thought of him as a musician, but never knew of the fire burning inside that would soon cause a back draft. This love for music followed him as a student to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where Blaze began creating beats for himself and other local artists. This opened up doors for J-Blaze as a rapper, producer, songwriter, and DJ. J-Blaze combines true lyricism, hot concepts, and creative flow, bringing hip-hop back to its original lyrical, marketable, and relevant state. As he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he stepped into the working world as a banker, adding the business to his hustle. So, when you see J-Blaze, check the business in his swagger. Everything about him screams Cut The Check!
