My Interests

I'd like to meet:

www.gatesconference.comWho do I need to talk to? Where do I need to go? What do I need to do? In the world of entertainment these questions get asked every single day and the individuals who have the answers to those questions have the knowledge, and in this business knowledge is power. And in the often secretive entertainment industry, who you know and what you know is usually the deciding factor between success and failure.Just ask well-known journalist/media personality Greg “Gate$” Davenport.“Early in my career I had a few deals on the table that should’ve been pretty easy to execute,” says Gate$, a veteran journalist who’s broken some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop today including T.I., Young Jeezy and T-Pain. “But, because I didn’t know what I was doing, I wasn’t prepared and lost out on about $40,000.”In an effort to help those avoid the same mistakes he made in the past Gate$ partnered with boxing champion Roy Jones Jr. and his company Body Head Entertainment to bring the world the semi-annual (twice a year) Greg Gate$ Music Conference March 31 at Club Dimensions in Roy’s home of Pensacola, Florida. The mission of the conference has two goals. The first is to educate and expose all attendees to the world of the entertainment industry. No matter what facet of the industry you may be in (artist, producer, model, director, publicist, etc.) there will be an opportunity for all to learn, network and promote yourself, artist or product. It doesn’t matter if you’re a major label trying to break a new signee or a new producer trying to find out how to copyright your material this is the place to be.The second goal is to expose the rest of the nation to the power of America’s Gulf Coast market. Consisting of five states (Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas), the cities of the Gulf Coast are host to some of the top urban and national events (Mardi Gras, The Kappa, Spring Break, etc.), as well as some of the hottest markets for selling music and holding live concerts. However, this market is still untapped and underserved. The Greg Gate$ Music Conference will not only give major companies a chance to break into these prime markets, but also give the talent in this region a platform to sound off.Every conference will have several informative panels with the top names in business passing along their knowledge and opinions on a number of important subjects. Also, new and established artist will take to the stage and show the world what they’re made of during the conference’s showcase hour.So if you’re in the entertainment industry or interested in getting into it, then the Greg Gate$ Music Conference is THE event to attend in 2007. Be there!
