About Me

Composer and guitarist, based in a home studio in Weston, Ma (soon to be L.A.) Born in Sarajevo at the time of Ex-Yugoslavia, now known as the capital of Bosnia. Moved to Sweden with his beautiful mother when he was 12, who still lives there. Began playing guitar at age 15 (very late in the eyes of many, even myself but it's about quality time people, not quantity!!) after aspireing to be a drummer for a really long time. Got into the High School of Music and performing arts after auditioning the following year. As he was playing Classical Guitar for a while he switched to electric after hearing all the greatest Metal players play their tremolo equiped axes doing the dive bomb thing (whitch is impossible to do on Classical guitar for now anyway..).After graduating High School took some time off to travel Europe and to spend more time practising the Guitar. Got his first teaching gig as the faculty at the local school in Kalmar Sweden teaching 7-9 graders while being only 5 yrs older than the students. After having had enough of the strict 9-5 schedule (lasted hardly a year including the paid summer vacation after the teaching gig was done), he left the position to study at Berklee College of Music and cash in on the schollarship. In 2001 got awarded Berklee College of Music schollarship to study at Berklee after auditioning in Helsinki Finland on their World Schollarship tour. In 2002 packed his bags and moved to Boston to begin studies at Berklee. Being a big fan of movies and movie soundtracks he added Film Scoring as his Major at Berklee and successfully graduated early after 3 yrs, getting his Bachelors degree in December 2005 (CHECK OUT!! Some of the scored films in the video section). Has studied privately with many great guitarists including: Dave "Fuze" Fiuczynski, Prasanna Ramswamy (guru who is a amazing player of Carnatic indian Music and beyond, and a very good friend), Mick Goodrick, Jim Kelly, Julien Kasper, Tim Miller. As he felt that guitar was starting to feel a bit limiting as a instrument he began studies in Orchestral Composition with a Master Composer Vuk Kulenovic who has to this day remained the greatest mentor, teacher, and friend. In 2004 Dejan was offered instrument endorsement with Edin Guitars/Basses and was envolved in designing his own signature guitar model with a luthier and friend Edin Alidzanovic of Edin Guitars/Basses and the prototype of double-neck called Double Horn has been made, and making the craftmanship beyond the expectations in the terms of sound, feel and artistic looks of the instrument (very sexy). Single neck versions are on their way in upcoming few months (Edin is extremly talented and a skilled luthier and you should definitely check him out).Right now Dejan is keeping busy writing his upcoming record (which is going to be a lot of heavy riffing, drum & Bass and World music elements) and finishing his unfinished Symphony called " Flight for the Orchestra No:1".Dejan will be relocating to L.A. in the end of August 2006 ( it's time for me to start surfing people.... even if it ends up kicking my ass....YEAH).Peace and Love!!
