Bonjour! How you doin? My name is Dan and I am an alcoholic, no, i'm joking you radge! I'm a happy go lucky kinda guy really, I try to live my life to the full and enjoy each day as if it were my last. I'm a lover, NOT a fighter, and i'm a firm believer that if you smile at life, then life will smile back at you - i've suffered a few personal/family tragedies the last few years up in Inverness - and as the (shite) song goes "Things can only get better", surely to fuck they will eh?!
I am now living in Ayr, been here for nearly two years now, it's alright I suppose. (No, really it's pretty SHITE to be honest) It's definitely not as nice as my fair home city of Inverness and the beautiful scenery of the Highlands and Islands.
I am the parental guardian father figure type person Dad Dad Daddio to wee boy Dylan - aged 10 years, who lives up in Inverness with my Mum. Dylan is my deceased sister Kelly's little baby boy, he was just 7 months old when she was taken away from us. Dylan will be a top footballer when he grows up, watch this space!
My biggest love is for music in all its forms, there IS some stuff I just will not listen to though. Love going to gigs, favourite venue being every stage at T in the Park. There is no better rush (apart from sex) than seeing a band, or any band playing live (They have to be good though of course). I go to T in the Park every year, V Festival at Chelmsford - another great festival, and Rockness on the beautiful shores of Loch Ness - everybody MUST experience the magic of Rockness!
Just about fully recovered now after Rockness, T in the Park and V Festival 2007 - DAFT PUNK were just amazing - possibly the greatest live performance i've ever seen. Kasabian, Maximo Park and CSS were brilliant at TITP and Rodrigo Y Gabriela were jaw droppingly amazing at V Festival.
I do a wee bit of DJ'ing now and again, I play mostly Motown, Soul, Funk and 70's Disco, some folk might know me from New Soul City @ Maple Court in Inverness - those were the days indeedy! I also play the drums in a wee band called "The Wind-ups", have a wee look into our myspazz page (in my top friends list), have a wee listen to our new songs, called "I Know" and "And Whit".
Love my football, support the mighty mighty Rangers Football Club, Rangers reserves, Rangers veterans and absolutely anyone playing against Celtic F.C. I also follow Liverpool F.C. I go up to Ibrox now and again to watch Rangers in action. Hopefully we'll start winning some silverware sometime soon, now that Super Ally and Wattie Smith are back!
Apart from music and football, I love going cycling, swimming, walking the dog, camping, bothies, hill-walking/climbing and hiking - the further away from civilisation - the better. Drinking, smoking, partying and generally getting on it - Let's Get On It!!! Abusing my body and mind in any way possible. Only on a weekend though!
I've just started the HNC in Sound Production at Ayr College after successfully negotiating the NC course. My ultimate aim would be to gain a degree in Music Technology/Sound Production and work as a sound engineer in recording studios and/or at gigs and festivals...I'll keep you all posted on my progress.
All i'm really bothered about in life though, is to be happy, and enjoy what time i've got in this world, as I know only too well that it could all end tomorrow. As long as I have my music, and my mates, I'll be alright.
