About Me

Hey !!! I was born in Havana,Cuba. Came to the state's in the early 60's and like a bazillion other kid's, in 1964 when I was 8 I caught the Ed Sullivan show on a Sunday night and saw the Beatle's. What can I say I was totally blown away. Not long after that my parent's bought me my first guitar, that's where my journey started. Back then there were no playstations or XBOX games around, but damn it you new at everyone of your friend's houses there were guitar's,amp's, drum's, basses and keyboard's. Man those were good time's there wasn't a basement or a garage in the neighborhood we wouldn't jam in for hours at a clip. In those day's there were a ton of band's and they all had there own sound. I got influence's from every direction, by 1968 my friend Tim Caffaro turned me on to an album that totally blew me away, it was Are You Experienced. What can I say at 12 years old to be hearing this kind of Music just floored me. From there my search for the blues started, cause now that I look back Hendrix was playing Blues on "STEROID'S" LOL !!!! I was one of those cat's that learned by ear and my eye's, not to disciplined I guess. I can get you from point A to point B quick or the long way and may not know the name of some of the street's that get you there, but the good lord know's I'm gonna get you there with alot of heart and feeling. My singing started, when I constantly found myself searching for one that wanted to do want I wanted. I guess it worked cause I kinda dig singing myself,my voice is just another instrument I play. As far as the players I use, that's another blessing, they're all well schooled in music theory which is the bomb for me. Kevin Brennan on bass and Todd Lanka on ocassion and on Drum's Breeze Waker and Walter MaGonegal when he is available. As far as my keeping grounded in my playing ability, when I feel I'm at the top of the mountain I visit my good friend and ocassional tutor Jim Mosca. He is a walking Encyclopedia of music and a hell of a player. He keep's me grounded, I say to myself you know your not that good, you gotta keep pluggin" LOL!!!
