I started this page to vent musically not really to sell or promote anything. Playing guitar let's me get away from everything - sometimes have fun - sometimes just make noise - other times express some deep inner thought - this does not happen too often... ;)Since starting this page in January last year I have been fortunate enough to meet some great friends, write some cool guitar tunes and form an awesome cover band called Acoustic Graffiti. So now I am promoting everything Acoustic Graffiti is doing. We have been able to play some great places in and around Nashville and share the stage with some other great local bands.Acoustic Graffiti started with my great friend Steve Braun (Vocalist for the Prog Metal band ASHENT - please check them out and buy their stuff!!) Our idea was to do great metal and hard rock songs from the 90's and 2000's acoustically. Like the MTV unplugged series. We developed a catalog of about 50 cover songs added a Bass Player - Mr. Jeff Clay - who is also a great guitar player and singer - and a great friend! We played some shows and realized we wanted to turn up the intensity so we added Mr. Barry Becker on drums... The line up is complete and we are ready to rock hard and have a blast every time out in 2009!!!Our set list includes songs likeLife is Beautiful, Crawling in the Dark, Sweetness, Bad Day, 1985, Running Away, If you Could Only See, Jumper, Stacy's Mom, Hole Hearted, Everything you Want, Cold, Dirty Little Secret, 3am, My Own Worst Enemy, Long Train Running, Sunday Morning, She Will Be Loved, Feels Like Tonite, Its Not Over, Wanted Dead or Alive, Signs, Angels Son, Slide, Plush, What I Got, Santeria, Wonderwall, Dani California, Give It Away, Drive, Blurry, Wish You Were Here, I Walk Alone, Basketcase, Love Song, Rock Star, Echo, Numb, My Friends Over You, Polyamorous, Anthem, Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous, Girls & Boys, American Idiot, The Kids Arent Alright, Come Out & Play, Meant to Live, Monkey Wrench, Everlong, Click Click Boom, Second Chance, Bad Girlfriend, Addicted, 18 Days, Use Me and the list goes on...2009 should be a great year for Acoustic Graffiti as we look to play more shows - add heavier songs - play louder and get back in the studio.ABOUT THE SONGS -IF YOU COULD ONLY SEE - Acoustic Graffiti cover of the great song by Tonic - a band favorite - and a crowd favorite when we play liveSHE WILL BE LOVED - Acoustic Graffiti cover of the hit by Maroon 5 - different for us but shows the original Acoustic Graffiti concept of taking a hit song and makoing it our ownBAD DAY - Acoustic Graffiti cover of the hit by Fuel - the first song Steve and I attempted way back in February - another crowd favorite when we play live - well the chicks dig it anyway.... ;-)FORGIVEN - just me on guitars. This was one of those deep inner thought moments - I was thinking about when you finally get to a place that you can admit you messed up - accept it and ask for forgiveness. For me it seems like that moment is really where you are forgiven - whether the other person involved really lets you off the hook or not. So I tried to capture the end of sadness and the new start you get when you finally get there.ENDING - another deep thought moment (I know.... I said they dont happen that often - two times in 2007 counts as not that often) - I was thinking about when things end - relationships, jobs, projects, people etc... there is always fear and sadness - but then there is always hope at the prospect of something better. So is the end of something really the end or is it the start of something else??? If it is the start of something else will it be better or worse??? This song is kind of bluesy and ambiguous - I think it ends with the question - will this end be the start of something better???GUITAR RIFF OF THE DAY - for awhile in 2008 I had been messing around with home recording - so I started recording cool guitar riffs from some of my favorite songs and putting them up - my son and I were driving one day - I think to Guitar Center for our monthly test drive of every guitar in the store - sometimes we buy stuff - not often enough for the sales staff... ;-) anyway we heard Master of Puppets from Metallica - I said I could play it - Matthew said I couldnt - so the challenge was on - 20 guitar tracks later you be the judge....THE RAIN SONG - always liked this classic Zep tune - thought it would sound much better with just a guitar and no Robert Plant Shrieking... If I ever do a guitar solo album this track will be on it....So that's the story - looking forward to playing more shows, making more great friends and playing as much guitar as possible!!!!!Thanks for stopping by!
