Smokin' Joe..Now A Master Certified BBQ Judge

I am here for Friends

About Me

I am about 30 something in mind. The calendar disagrees though. I love rock music and the blues to this day and spend every day with it in my life. Ever hear the Sammy Hagar song, "Rock is in my Blood"? There are Mardi Gras beads hanging from my rear view mirror. Chili pepper lights hang in my kitchen year round. I like to cook, especially Southern smoked BBQ, hence the name, Smokin Joe. I like to cook chili in cast iron pots. I am also a certified judge for BBQ contests. I like being outside, and doing things constructive, either inside or out. Well, I do spend lots of time on the pc as well. I love fury of thunderstorms, and the serenity of snowfalls. I like to crisp, clean cold of winter, and the warmth and sun of summer. Too much humidity sucks, but we deal with it. I travel for work and enjoy doing it. I get to see other places and try new foods.
The Car : Equipped with Alpine and Infinity.
The Home : Equipped with Soundcraftsmen PreAmp/EQ and PCR800 Power, and Infinity Sound.
The Patio: Equipped with Tejas Smokers Model 2040, wood-fired Steel BBQ Pit.
The Bike: Specialized Hard Rock A1 FS. (is that a great name for MY bike or what?)
I like a variety of Teas, Coffees, and Beers. (Hmm, all forms of BREWS) I like the flavors of my food to be bold and tasty. When I bite into food, I like when it bites back! Forget meatloaf and casseroles. That was so 1967.
I like trail biking. Need to get out and do more though! Offhsore Powerboat races, flea markets, festivals, concerts, museums, aquariums, and Amsterdam. I would get lost and eaten alive in NYC, but feel comfortable walking around Amsterdam from neighborhood to neighborhood. The best way to see it, is on foot.
I like to cook BBQ!!!!! Southern Smoked BBQ, cooked over wood fire. In the warmer (>50 degrees) weather I might have a wood fire going with some pork, sausage, chicken, beef and even salmon in the smoker. I am also a KCBS CBJ. (ask me) I sometimes bring food to church activities to turn people onto real wood BBQ. Gas grill, yuk! My cooker is 470 pounds of BBQ Steel! I make my own bbq sauce, and sometimes hot sauce. One day, look out for Smokin Joe's BBQ and Blues!
Talents I don't have, but wish I did: To Play Guitar. Wickedly and searing! And speak fluent Italian, and maybe Dutch.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

ROCKERS. anybody who likes music that sound like MUSIC. With actual harmonies, melodies, guitar passages and riffs and hooks that stick in your head for days. Music that is either based in, pays homage to, or who's musicians were influenced by THE BLUES, which is the source of inspiration of all rock descended from it! Now these ROCKERS can be male, female, and bi-curious. (just kidding) This appreciation is Open to all ages. I met a 16 year old kid who played Voodo Child on a Gibson Les Paul and wah-wah pedal that SMOKED the f'ing room! The kid was better than a lot of grown ups, and I want to see where this kid goes in life. SO if you are rocker, I don;t care if you pee standing up or sitting down, you are welcome. And Also, people into BBQ! (sorry, Smoked BBQ. Not grilling on your gas grill, that's a different thing altogether, not REAL BBQ.)
