About Me

From my understanding of it, being a writer involves a lot more thinking and talking about writing than actual writing. If that's what it means to be a writer, I'm definitely a writer. Sometimes I feel like that word is synonymous with weirdo or pervert, but not (necessarily) in a sexual sense. My favorite books and movies are usually about men with commitment issues, like High Fidelity and The Unbearable Lightness of Being. I don't really celebrate holidays; just a few birthdays, tennis tournaments, basketball season and shoe release dates. I'm mostly just trying to fill the void between the aforementioned events with some productivity.
I make rap songs sometimes. It's fun and stressful like all things we love. If you're interested in that sort of thing you can check out my music page. I think everyone raps now, right? Or is it everyone's a dj and only every other person is a rapper? I forget.

My Interests

little one, governing dynamics, good quotes, mythology, M.H.C., shoes, size 13s, good music, writing, social experiments, reading, being picky, eating pudding with my index finger, trusting strangers (more than I should), details, London, nostalgia, grammar, love/hate relationships, missing my ipod, alone time, literary devices, drive-by kissings, teaching, free stuff, high fives from my nieces and nephews, mixtapes, mix cds, choosing to be alone before I'm left, being the center of attention when it's convenient, Minneapolis, tennis, badminton, basketball, Apple Jacks, chess, nerdy stuff, sarcasm, thinking too much, constructive criticism, large dogs, forgetting that California isn't just one really big city, performing, lip biting, misc. biting, (not) taking pictures, people-watching, on-line window shopping, beating up little kids, getting beaten up by little kids, hoodies, hips, stomachs, tattoos, the occasional cigarette, endearing imperfections, making fun of 3rd eye rap, the word persnickety, learning how to not hate the sound of my own voice, duality vs. ambiguity?

I'd like to meet:

Math: sleeves tramp stamps.

I do that a lot. Right now I'm reading A Long Way Down and planning to read The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, The Bell Jar, Atlas Shrugged, Parable of the Talents, Fight Club, Pestalozzi's The Hours of a Hermit (if I can find it in English) and an ever-increasing list of 3,283,915 other books.

Heroes:

Dave Chappelle and Super Shredder are tied for third.
