"Kill your TV" slogans interrupted by Tivo. Some good TV, but you have to find it. The Office, any Sunday night HBO show (Sops, Deadwood, Rome, Extras, Flight of The Conchords, Ali G), Simpsons, SNL, Ultimate Fighter (Spike TV), UFC, CNN, History Chn, Discovery Chn ("Shark Week"), MTV (Real World, Boiling Points), The Office/BBC, Dog The Bounty Hunter, Jim Cramer, Fast Money, Youtube, NFL (Cowboys), NBA (Lakers).
Books:
"On The Road" by Jack Kerouac - I know everyone says this, but I actually finished the book (along with Kerouac others). "On the Road", "Dharma Bums", and "Big Sur" changed the way I live in the world. Hunter S. Thompson. William Blake. Aldous Huxley. Stephen King. All Carl Sagan as brain food--Sagan makes you see yourself in the universe, with a very compelling and straight-forward syntax (i.e. he explains it to you and me). I try to read as much political non-fiction, as possible, in between bouts of nausea while watching CNN. Blue states own.
Heroes:
JFK, RFK, MLK (cliche, but all so important). John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Carl Sagan, Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, the dude that stopped the tank in Tiananmen Square, Homer Simpson, anyone that makes a film, my Pops
