Phosphates are not a salt, they are a rock band. They are not chemistry majors, nor do they aspire to be. Yes, they realize its an overly verbose name and probably hard to remember. They rock extra hard to compensate for an abstract band name and fragile male egos. They could have just called themselves The Cunning Linguists and that would have been funny and easy to remember. But that would have been too easy, and Phosphates want to climb the splintery unforgiving ladder to stardom the hard way. The way we figure, we'll either be famous, highly resentful or dead by 40.
