The internationaly famous World Stage, where i used to jam with some of the best local jazz musicians and studied with the Mingus Workshop and pianist Barry Harris' Vocal Workshop. Leimert Park, Los Angeles' "Little Africa" In the mid/late 90s I was a part of the so-called "Silver Lake scene" based at Club Spaceland. Collaborated with DJ Kevin Lincoln of Radio KCRW (Santa Monica) with a thursday night program "Space Trip" which was instrumental in bringing the best of hip hop, trip hop, drum & bass, jungle, African World, dance and electronica to the West Coast around the time of the bi-coastal feuding that was dividing the hip hop Nation. I also worked with Uhuru Communications, a media collective operating at Pacifica Radio KPFK, appearing on "Family Tree", hosted by South African activist Tim Ngubeni, and I also worked on broadcasting the "Afrikan People's Commentary". I also was featured on KXLU's "They Came From Beyond" with Adwain Brown for my work with the anti-apartheid movement's Artists and Athletes Against Apartheid. Worked with some of the biggest names in reggae such as Messenjah, Burning Spear, Zulu Spear, Ras Michael and the Sons and Daughters of Negus, and South African Musician Lebo Morake who won a Grammy Award for his work on "The Lion King" soundtrack. I also was a member of the National African Youth Student Alliance (NAYSA) which was founded by Raptivist Sistah Souljah, and worked with NAYSA on the "Get Busy" tour featuring Stetsasonic and Public Enemy. In those days I was a media coordinator, Emcee, and DJ, working on numerous fundraisers, concerts and political forums and community programs. DJ Kevin Lincoln, Stew, Jon E. Edwards, along with Art Terry, attended Los Angeles' Fairfax High School, and along with myself, formed the early nucleus of THE BLEU BAND, and later, THE ANIMATED.IMPORTANT MESSAGE: I AM IN THE PROCESS OF NETWORKING WITH CLUBS IN THE DALLAS AREA AS WELL AS ATLANTA AND LOS ANGELES AND INTEND ON RESUMING CLUB PERFORMANCE (DJ ONLY) IN THE FUTURE.
