A UNIQUE COMMUNITY GATHERING PLACE IN THE SMOKIES

About Me

Soul Infusion Tea House & Bistro is a community gathering place, healthy bistro and funky tea house located in the Great Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina. We are actually in an old, historic 1930s farm house featuring couches and coffee tables in our cozy living room, a dining room, a game room, an outdoor open-air music garden, and lots of LOVE within our walls. We serve import and micro-brewed beers, organic wines, delicious and healthy home cooked meals, tempting desserts, and a plethora of exotic teas and fair trade coffees from around the world. Nearby is Western Carolina University, the Smoky Mountain National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Cherokee Indian Reservation, the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, and lots of outdoor activities all around. We have been blessed to have this opportunity to provide a kind establishment in our small mountain community of Sylva, North Carolina since 2001. (The population of Sylva is just over 2,500 while the population of our entire county is only 33,000. Nearby Western Carolina University has around 9,000 students).
My name is Jason and with my wife and partner of 15 years, Karin, we are the proprietors of this grand experiment in community building and manifesting PEACE. Hope to see you soon!
"I am another yourself. I am a reflection of you. This journey we are on, together, has been very interesting so far. May our paths cross and our hearts meet, again. Namaste. I honor the Divine within you."

My Interests

We are always interested in experiencing what life has to offer, seeking new ideas and exploring new horizons.

WE LOVE LIFE! Sharing, Caring, Creating, Playing, Music, Travel, Hiking, Camping, Biking, Festivals, Reading, Writing, Learning, Teaching, Drumming, Gardening, Dancing, Playing, Laughing, Singing, Lounging, Relaxing, Intelligent Conversation, Spirituality, Philosophy, the Great Outdoors, the Great Mystery.

Give me a hammock and a good book, a phatty spliff and kind friends to share with, some fruity juice with crusty bread and organic cheese, a warm breeze and some cool tunes, and I am happy as can be. Jah! Blessings!

I also dabble in web design: Macktown Web Design

Check out my old e-max electric scooter blog.

Visit WNC.us for a little info about where we live.

Baseball Antiquities is another fascination of mine.

I'd like to meet:

THE Creator, Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Peace Pilgrim, Thomas Jefferson, Albert Einstein, Aldus Huxley, George Orwell, Mark Twain, Terence McKenna, Bob Marley, Kermit the Frog, the Dali Lama, the Pope, Oprah, Martha Stewart, my great-great-grandchildren, my great-great-great grandparents, my higher Self.

If you are a kind hearted person with love and wisdom to share, I would probably like to meet you too. I am particularly partial to intelligent conversations filled with wit and wisdom, waxing philosophical, delightful debate, and inspirational story telling. I really do love sharing positive new experiences with others by participating in mutually beneficial adventures of the heart, mind and spirit. Care to join me?

Music:

Roots, World, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Soul, Bluegrass, Jazz-grass, Jazz-tronica, Fusion, Reggae, Dub, Jam, Breakbeats, House, Trip Hop, Progressive Dance, Electronica, Ambient, Trance, Down Tempo, Chill, Classical, wind chimes, drum circles and singing in the shower.

I love multi-dimensional, interactive, up-beat live music filled with heart & soul, rooted in tradition yet exploring the boundaries of time and space. I also love to dance to anything with a good beat, great rhythm, and soulful lyrics. You will find I am equally comfortable dancing at a late night rave with lots of beautiful sweaty people, dancing around a fire or playing drums at a festival, or just casually lounging in a hammock to some great bluegrass and friends to share the experience with.

Movies:

Movies are modern-day mythology. We love movies!

Television:

Television sucks our brain dry. We try to avoid it as often as possible.

Books:

I LOVE TO READ! Mostly non-fiction, anything related to the Great Mystery; spiritually uplifting texts from all backgrounds and beliefs. I like to challenge myself with new ideas, new thoughts, and better understanding of where we come from, where we are going, and what are we doing here now. "Who am I?", "Why are we here?" and "What is the meaning of life?" -- that type of stuff. I mix it up a bit. At any given time I'm reading three or four books at a time. A few I'd recommend, "Conscious Evolution" by Barbara Marx Hubbard and "The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight" by Thom Hartmann. I would recommend anything by Neale Donald Walsch (author of "Conversations with God"), and anything by Terence McKenna, ("Food of the Gods", "The Archaic Revival", etc.) or John Perkins, ("Confessions of an Economic Hitman", "Psychonavigation", "Shapeshifters", etc.). I like Stephen King novels, too.

Heroes:

Bob Marley. This man shared many blessings with each of us! "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds". - Bob Marley
My greatest hereos are those everyday people who overcome great obstacles and challenging circumstances by thinking positively, living fully and presently in each moment, and encouraging and inspiring others to do the same despite all odds. My everyday heroes are those who inspire me to live my own life more fully, encouraging me to walk in balance with this amazing planet we share. Heroes remind me that my heart is filled with unconditional love and compassion, if I allow myself to share this with others.
Those who SHARE THE LIGHT that exists within each and every one of us! A favorite bumper sticker says so eloquently, "Teach Respect for the Earth and All Living Creatures". I say, "We are all teachers and students together on this journey." Share love, share experience, share your wisdoms. We are all in this together folks. Cosmic mirrors of Self.
