Well, this is Casper (Lead Vocals) for The Mighty 602 Band and here is my bitch session for those who are interested. I was actually there in the beginning when this band thing became reality. We have been going strong since 1997 when we performed at our first music festival as The Mighty 602 Band. It was at the Sierra Nevada Music Festival in California if I remember correctly. Since that time, we have performed at venues such as "Reggae on the River", The Smithsonian Institute, The Kennedy Center, The New Orleans Jazz Festival, Blaw Blaw Blaw, just to name a few.
The idea to become a band seemed like the thing to do at the time. We we're just a bunch of friends who shared the same vision of music. Nobody knew what to expect or the amount of work that had to go into making this band the best in the southwest. I don't regret a thing except the continious dealings with crooked ass promoters. I'm so sick of these snakes ripping us off because they don't know how to promote period! The music business is a gamble already so when you have to work with these thieves it can put a bad taste in your mouth.
We eventually started releasing music on our own record label because I was pissed that people (Who don't give a shit about you or your music) could actually have control over every aspect of your music business. Why would someone want to own your thoughts, your Copyrights, your Royalities and keep most, if not all your earnings from the hard work you do every night. F&*% em! and their stupid contracts that only benefit them. Further more, who gave these other so called music people the power to determine who or what kind of music is mainstream! That's why, we currently have three cd's under our belt and we'll be releasing "Philly Blunt's" debut cd sometime in the next few months. You can expect another new project to begin soon after that from me. There is no looking back, we can only forward for ourselves.
Check us out sometime and judge for yourself. You'll be surprised what real humans with real issues can bring to the table.
Oh, and one more thing. If your a promoter and think your going to burn us again, or try to have us pay to play, you can kiss my ass and call it love! We'll never play music for you again unless you pay us up front! Also, I don't have time to sell tickets for you so you can make more money you greedy motherf*&$%@
Respect to underground music! I'm out
