Click here to make your own!THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANIANA'S NEW MUSIC PAGE! aniana (prenounced ahn-yah-nuh) is a passionate, energetic, natural, soulful songstress emerging from Arizona as a powerful force in the next generation of concious reggae artists. Her first steps on her musical journey lead her to her first band, Pure Factor. She had the opportunity to sing old-school R&B, blues and funk and also performed songs in Spanish as a tribute to Selena. Soon, she was introduced to the reggae community. Her first reggae project was a band called Red-X backing and opening up for reggae legends Danny Clarke of The Meditations and Original General Smiley of Michigan and Smiley. She has eagerly absorbed the teachings and guidance of the experienced musicians she has been able to work with, particularly the art of harmony from Danny Clarke and musical direction of William 'King Roach' Banks. Along with another band, The Mighty 602 Band, she has backed such artists as Ras Michael & The Sons of Negus, Everton Blender, Isha Blender, Michigan & Smiley, Bazil Gayle, Isaac Haile Selassie from Ethiopia, HR of Bad Brains/SoulBrains, Native Grammy Award Winner Casper Lomayesva, Abijah, Walt Richardson & The Peaceful Warriors, Dee Dread, Tony Culture, Alden Powers, Philly Blunt and King Roach and has opened for dozens of todays top headliners including The Wailers, Burning Spear & The Meditations, to name a few. She has performed in festivals throughout the US and abroad such as the Legends of Rasta Reggae Festival (Las Vegas), Alaska State Fair, McDowell Mountain Music Festival, Hopiland Labor Day Reggae Festival, McGill University (Montreal, Canada), CAAAZ Caribbean Concert, Party in the Park (New Mexico), Reggae Spring Festival, San Diego Indie Music Festival and the Wind River Music Festival (Wyoming).She continues to expand her experience in music by working with other projects outside her genre as well. She has now teamed up live and in the studio with a 7 piece hip hop/jazz/soul fusion band, Antedote, for their 4th album, which has broadened her vocal dynamics and ever-evolving stage performance.
