Tarik “Dwayne†Dedrick was born in 1977 in Dayton Ohio. He has been playing the drums since the age of 2. At the young age of 5 he began his professional drumming career playing with Ohio’s legendary gospel group “The Baker Singersâ€. From there he has expanded his repertoire to include all genres of music; reggae, pop, hip-hop, rock, R&B, and jazz just to name a few.
Over the years he has had the honor of sharing the stage with international reggae artists Bazil Gayle, Ziggy Marley, Live Wyya, Gregory Isaacs, Eek-a-mouse, Morgan Heritage, Casper Lomayvesa, The Original General Smiley & Papa Michigan, Everton Blender, Isha Blender, Sister Carol, Yellow Man, Ky-Mani Marley, Junior Reid, Don Carlos, Kelly Love Jones, as well as Arizona’s local reggae artists The Mighty 602 Band, Tony Culture, Walt Richardson and The Peaceful Warriors. Additionally, he performed for such artists in various genres, such as CASE, Keith Murray, Charlie Brown and The Saints, The Indigo Girls, D6 among others.
Dwayne’s many years of experience in recording studios includes experience working with such musicians as Julian Cook, Joel Powell, Dane Cole, Third Mesa Music and Scottsdale Studio. He is currently working on projects of his own, and he is currently drumming for Morgan Heritage.
As an exceptionally talented up-and-coming musician, Dwayne has traveled extensively and performed in shows and concerts internationally and domestically. He is exceptionally driven, is extremely focused on his drumming profession, highly motivated and dedicated to enriching his drumming skills. He maintain’s there is no boundary on where he can go artistically and professionally.
