About Me

I was in Squirrel Nut Zippers between January 1994 and June of 1999. I wrote the band's big hit, "Hell," which peaked at number 13 on the Billboard chart. "Put a Lid On It" was used in a Superbowl commercial and was on a Tony-award winning Broadway soundtrack. My Zippers songs have been in at least a couple dozen movies. In 2000 I self-released "Samsara," recorded in my waning Zippers days. I can quote one review by heart: "It sounds like Tom Maxwell and friends had a lot of refreshments while recording the delightful "Samsara." Spot on! In 2004 I released a rock record, "Brother Seeker," with Ken Mosher. We also released "Maxwell/Mosher," a more Zipperish offering, in 2005.Since then, I've done music for movies, television shows and commercials. Last year, a song I wrote with Ken Mosher was in the Oscar-nominated documentary "Deliver Us From Evil." I have almost a records-worth of new material written.

Continuing adventures in not being dead!

So the solo show at the Cave went really well. By "really well" I mean the good fortune of having a very sweet crowd who didn't mind bum chords and forgotten lyrics, and who were pin-drop quiet durin...
