"A young girl sat weeping. come listen to me?"

About Me

I got my layout at Cleanupmyspace.comCurrently I'm in a duo with Dan Walsh, our music isn't what you would call traditional in the stricktest sense. We both love traditional folk music but we also have a love of funk, blues, soul, bluegrass, swing. I think you can hear all of that in our music.Stewart Hardy still has to take responsibility for my being a musician, he's never going to get out of that one.I'm a born and bred Northumbrian who now lives in Newcastle. A finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 2004/05 I now work for The Sage Gateshead with the Silver Programme which is for anyone aged over 50 to join, give them a call because it's a really worth while programme giving people many oppertunities that they would never, otherwise, have the chance to take part in.I graduated this year from the Folk and Traditional Music Degree at Newcastle University. It was a great degree to do and gave me the chance to discover what sort of singer I am...I'm still discovering!I'm guest vocalist of XYZs debut album and on, duo, Landermasons latest album which has been well recieved on radio 3 and made the mojo top ten.Anything you'd like to know, or even just to say hello. Please get in touch! and keep an eye out for new tracks in the next week or so.

Band Members: Kathryn Davidson:"she topped-and-tailed her set with humorous, melodically-challenging, tongue-twisting songs from her native county and Scotland. In between, her slow, emotional rendition of the ballad Lovely Willie held everyone spellbound to its bitter end."Mel McClellan - BBC Radio 2.."Singing could bring down the stars"...."deliciously musical"Sandra Kerr"Kat Davidson & Dan Walsh were a revelation" Paul Arrowsmith (Kirkby Fleetham Folk Club)Wonderful! Kathryn was brilliant with the children. She built positive relationships with them instantly, and the responded very well to her. She was prompt in arriving, and came well prepared for the lessons. The sessions were excellent. Kathryn was very capable in taking the children, and managed them very well. Staff spoke very highly of her and said she was very professional and got the most out of the children. She was really positive, friendly and motivated children'Moya Thirwell - Plains Farm Primary School in Sunderland
