Switchblade Action Dance

Quantum Foam formed In February 1996 by Eric Conklin & Joe Perry(no, not that one). Early influnces were Sonic Youth, Flipper, Circle Jerks, Black Flag... They started playing in the backwoods of Perry, Ohio(20-30 miles outside of Cleveland)in 1997 when they finally recieved a drum set. The 2 then took turns on drums & guitar. In 2000, Nick Baxter(Tufts Waddson) was brought in on bass & back up vox to round it all out as a trio. Joe Perry(Jo Mammy) left for good in October of 2000 & a month later Frank Staneck(Ray Tard) took over full drum duties. The trio then took to the clubs of CLeveland, playing any & all venues they could including Kent State. Staneck left in December of 2001 & the band went through a few different drummers until March of 2003, when Rump Roast took over the drum stool. By this time the bands influences had shifted to stuff like the Sonics, New Bomb Turks & the like...They played all the same clubs they played before & finally decided in August of 2003 to change their name to Switchblade Action Dance. By this time , they dropped Rump Roast as drummer & picked up Jacob Parks to take over. That didn't last long, Eric parted ways with Nick & Jacob in Aug. of 2004. Eric took over all instuments in the studio & his wife Laura plays drums on the occasional song to round it out as Eric the Terrible on vox/guitar, Laura Doom on drums. a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank" Eric the Terrible Photo by Jamie Bradly
