Los Angeles Homeless Services Coalition

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Coalition is a tax-exempt, non-for-profit charity formed as a union between Democracy for Change and Los Angeles Youth Network, one of the most successful and effective non-profit homeless shelters in LA county. Right now Los Angeles has over 80,000 men, women, and children sleeping on the streets. To put that into persepective, the homeless populations of Chicago, San Fransisco, and New York City only make up 2/3 of LA's. This makes LA the homeless capital of the United States. Over 41% of LA's homeless people are women and children, and 10,000 are kids. These groups are incredibly vulnerable and routinely fall victim to physical abuse and prostition. This can lead to HIV/AIDS and other serious diseases.

My Interests

If we all work together and raise awareness, we can make a huge dent in this crisis. There is no reason to have this many people on our streets. To find out how you can help visit us at our website www.lahsc.org

I'd like to meet:

We are looking for motivated individuals who are passionate about working for social change and justice, and who are interested in saving the lives homeless women and children. Social Activists, Caring people, non-profits and social service workers, students, and recent graduates are encouraged to check out our excellent job opportunities!!! Visit our website at www.lahsc.org (see link) for more information
