About Me

I live two lives: the one inside my head in which I dream, analyze and plot for a better world and the one outside my head in which I search for truth. I am a recovering Irish Catholic, lapsed Buddhist, and East Coast person at heart. I hold abnormally strong convictions about human and animal rights and push the need for altruism and compassion at all costs.
I am still reluctant to embrace the label of 'extremist' but, to quote MLK, "The question is not whether we will be extremists, but what kind of extremists we will be. Will we be extremists for hate or for love?" I consider myself an extremist for love, in all its various forms.
I am a writer, a lover of literature and language. I am a firm believer in the inherent goodness in things. I love nothing more than to see a child's passion for reading spark and I gain most satisfaction from inspiring the learning of others. I always hope to be graced with good conversation, good ideas, and good people.
