Chuck Norris. Well, any Americans, really.
Written by an Australian Dentist...
To Kill an American
You probably missed it in the rush of news last week, but there was
actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper
an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.
So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let
everyone know what an American is . so they would know when they found
one. (Good one, mate!!!!)
"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish,
Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican,
African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian,
or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.
An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho,
Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native
Americans.
An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or
Muslim.
In fact, there are more Muslims i n America than in Afghanistan. The
only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of
them chooses.
An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will
answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to
speak for the government and for God.An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the
world.
The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of
Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to
the pursuit of happiness.
An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every
other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in
return.
When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago,
Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back
their country!
As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any
other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. Americans welcome the best of
everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, t he
best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least.
The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty, welcomes your
tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the
homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built
America.
Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September
11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that
the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different
countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and
abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did
General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American."
"We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile. We have room for but one language here and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a pollyglot [sic] boarding house; and we have room for but one, soul [sic] loyalty, and that loyalty is to the American people."
~Teddy Roosevelt
Hold fast to the Bible as the sheet anchor of your
liberties; write its precepts on your hearts and
practice them in your lives. To the influence of
this Book we are indebted for the progress made,
and to this we must look as our guide in the
future.
- Ulysses S. Grant
I'm fairly eclectic when it comes to music so pretty much Everything; but I absolutely love old hymns. My Favorite Vocalists are Andrea Bocelli and Eva Cassidy. The greatest modern day composer is of course: The Master, John Williams. The greatest composer of all time is by a large margin, Ludwig van Beethoven. But Im serious about liking everything. Bascially its how long I can tolerate a certain type of music. Rap is good for parties or dancing or whatever, but besides that its hard to tolerate it. Here are a FEW of the artists I like: Explosions in the Sky, Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, Evanescence, Hinder, Stone Sour, Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky, 3 doors down, Incubus, The Pretenders, John Denver, Green Day, Federick Chopin, Nirvana, Phillips Craig & Dean, Buddy Jewell, Eva Cassidy, John Mellencamp, ACDC, Fourplay, Coldplay, Dashboard Confessionals, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, The Rippingtons, Newsong, Gaither Vocal Band, Avalon, Phil Collins (don't laugh, he writes pretty good music), Jason Wade, Bob Dylan, Metallica, The Temptations, Johnny Cash, Modeste Mossourgsky, Creedance Clearwater Rivival, Chicago, Seal, Contemporary Christian music, David Huff, Jason Morant, Iron and Wine, Rolling Stones, Celtic anything, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Rage Against the Machine, Classical, ALL of smooth jazz, and I find that I can enjoy a good movie soundtrack, such as 300, The Passion of the Christ, or Star Wars. So yeah. I should have just left it at, "Im fairly eclectic..."
Needless to say, there are a lot of great movies out there. My favorite just happens to be the Tom Hanks classic Forrest Gump
The Holy Bible; Any of Michael "Savage"'s books; George Wallace: American Populist by Stephen Lesher. Who Really Cares by Arthur C. Brooks. Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1500 Years by Dennis T. Avery, The South Was Right! by James and Walter Kennedy. And ANY of the Poltically Incorret Guide series (i.e. to Islam by Robert Spencer, to Darwinism and Intelligent Design by Jonathan Wells, or to American History by Thomas E. Woods, Jr.);
A Foreign Policy of Freedom by Ron Paul; And a host of others.
Thomas Jefferson, George S. Patton, Robert E. Lee, Thomas "StoneWall" Jackson, Michael Savage, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, and Number 1:
"The moral and constitutional obligations of our representatives in Washington are to protect our liberty, not coddle the world, precipitating no-win wars, while bringing bankruptcy and economic turmoil to our people."
-Dr. Ron Paul(R-TX)
"We sleep peaceably in our beds at night because rough men stand ready to harm on our behalf."
