Chapter 1
Beginnings are hard
all paths lead into darkness
plant your foot firmly.
The way of the Fist
is both fierce and compelling
ruled by Hate and Lust.
Take care with young hearts
they tend to love more boldly
fire burns in their veins.
Do you know my soul?
Did we meet in a star's womb
or dance with the wind?
Chapter 2
Hammer and Anvil
The tools of the fighting man
Not of the Thinker.
In the realms Unseen
Lives are cruelly governed
By Zeroes and Ones.
The Beast has glass teeth
And eyes made of circuitry.
It calls cities 'home'.
Chapter 4
Silent and profound
The true End of living things
As God's eyes open.
A star fell between
Yesterday and Forever
The day we first spoke.
True love opens wounds
Emotion can strangle you...
But fear destroys all.
Chapter 5
The waves crash and cull
the shorelines of Existence.
I am made of Sand.
Stirring from deep sleep
to find my dreams followed me
to this waking place
Seeds spilled from Heaven,
burrowing into the Earth.
Soon the Sprouting starts.
Whispers in darkness
Memories of lives gone by?
Or foreshadowing?
Chapter 6
The desert will weep
as the sands melt and make glass,
and then you will see
Blood begets more blood.
that is the ancient knowledge
we ignore today
the piercing darkness -
the shadows that chill the soul -
the world needs more light.
Breathing more deeply
to feel alive and fulfilled.
It is that simple.
Follow your instincts
for they will not betray you
or lead you astray.
Chemical twilight
and the dawn of surrender...
I know of these things.
Long and winding roads
through green and verdant valleys
are mirrors for Life.
To make a new friend -
It is a question of taste -
Can I stomach them?
Wisdom can be found
in the strangest of places.
You need only LOOK.
Chapter 7
Unable to breathe.
Unable to even think.
Slave to my body.
Seek in the darkness.
Blaze a path through to morning.
This is my new quest.
Living within Mind
will rob you all of true Joy...
and jail you with Ghosts.
Chapter 8
The waves are breaking
and the sand is soft and warm.
It is paradise.
There are murmurings
of an ancient knowledge lost -
a true Golden Age.
Will the flames clean you -
Wash away all of your sins -
Or will you be burned?
Where are memories -
Are they only in our heads -
or twinkling in stars?
Chapter 9
Bewildered. Breathless.
A bird...weightless in the sky.
Will I ever fall?
The embarassments
of our everyday lives
are soon forgotten.
And so we descend
Into the fiery Pit.
Alone and in Woe.
Fragments of the Truth
Can finally be revealed.
But what happens next?
Chapter 10
Lost in a new land
And the strangeness overwhelms.
You must ground yourself.
They fear the foreign -
the rituals from afar -
they seem unholy.
Streets aren't for fighting.
Manmade pathways from the hub -
Reaching out like veins.
Sly grins and warm eyes
Suggestive words and posture.
The signs of a flirt.
Protect what is yours.
But do not imprison it.
That is a great crime.
Pay heed to Wisdom
In the books of the deceased -
The Fallen know things.
Chapter 11
Generations lost
but old knowledge uncovered
the seed is within
What was once buried
now rises to the surface
wearing ugly skin
succumb to the peace
surrender to the water
drown in your content
The lust for revenge
is unquenchable unless
one learns to forgive
Chapter 12
what is family?
these bonds not only of blood
but of memories
can imprisonment
shackle the human spirit
and wither one's faith?
steer this chariot
and heed the consequences
of moving power
so many secrets
but how many are buried
right in front of us?
Chapter 13
Memories displaced
on the path of Forgetting
stale, tiny bread crumbs
a useless struggle
for the Soul is held tightly
in its container
faced with a grim choice
that leads into the Unknown
but it could be Fate
numeric master
King of the invisible
but still so empty
Chapter 14
As the snow drifts down
Flakes gather on our shoulders
And then the breath slows
The philanthropist
Gives of his wealth and his time
But what of his heart?
All gifts are curses
Given with expectations
You are bound to them
The mind stays empty
When its free of attachment
But also lonely
The streets are teeming
With the weary and hopeless
Can we do nothing?
Victims are children
With Suffering for fathers
And Fear for mothers
Look everywhere
And you are sure to see them
The Signs of the End
Imprison your rage
And it is sure to break free
And poison your soul
Life is a chess game
We are all pawns to the King
To be sacrificed
It is a dark day
When duty rules over love
For ones family
Look beneath the face
Of the one you would call foe
Perhaps an ally?
Helpless in its wake
Deafened by the blaring horns
Shivering with fear.
Chapter 15
Lost on the water
Drifting across the seascape
Searching for a Home
When you hear the birds
Know the angels are watching
They bring a warning
Stubbornness and Guilt
These things will gnaw at your soul
And leave you empty
Pierce through the Body
Into the Eye of the Storm
Where the Truth awaits
Chapter 16
You try to forget
but like sharp pains still stabbing
the memory lives
Swallowing it all
saturated by cold salt
mummified at sea
If you look above
the Sun will try to blind you
and you will thank it
In this Hopelessness
the dream continues to live
you can't deny it
All light is not good
it is easy to mistake
a glow as haven
The vision returns
we are forced to relive it
to know its purpose
With every step
your purpose becomes defined
driven wanderer
Foolish charity
not all who need will welcome
your kind advances
Chapter 17
Lifted from the sea
And placed on a gilded perch
Treasured little bird
Can you summon sleep...
Will Morpheus hear your call
And give you some rest?
And the cave opens
The stench spills into the air
Death waits on the wind.
Scourge of green metal
Swords clanging boldly...proudly
Crushers of Nations.
Another costume
Another mask to put on
Hiding in yourself
We all seek refuge
Within the hearts and the homes
Of those that love us
Know what is given
Witness what is sacrificed
It is all for you
As the banshee wails
You cringe from the memory
Of your impotence
