Voices of Decay formed in late 1995 as a pure death metal band. The musicians from South Tyrol (Italy) played regularly in local clubs and venues when they soon rose to a well- known and admired act. In the summer of 1997 a 4- track demo CD was recorded. Keyboard sounds, which were used here fort he very first time, became a steady feature since the band artistically moved on to black metal. Voices Of Decay, now grown to a five men band, continued to play several concerts and Open Airs. Opening the show for Graveworm and Atrocity at the 2. Eternal Darkness Festival was a very special moment in the band`s history and helped them to get a record deal with `Gang Bang Promotions`, a new Italian label. In the summer of 1999 the band recorded for 15 days at the `Screen Studio`. Their debut album `Nocturnal Domain`, which was well received by crititcs, took Voices Of Decay as far as Leipzig where they played at the Wave and Gothic festival. More concerts followed with bands like Rotting Christ, Graveworm, Darkwell and Suidakra. Because of the positive acceptance plans were made to record new material for a further release. However these plans were dismissed as the band was facing major problems with their producer. In 2000 Voices Of Decay were approached by `Last Episode`, a german Music Label, and a taking over was considered. But he band feared a lack of support and was proven right by constant problems at that label. During the period of Voices Of Decay still disabled by their old record deal, guitarist Lukas joined fellow country-man Graveworm and became their main songwriter. In 2005 the band released `doing maximum`, a 4- track ep, recorded and produced by guitarist Lukas.
