Area Woman Is The Root Of All Evil

About Me

I'm like the girl next door, if the girl next door was an opinionated tomboy and liked to rock out. I'm straight-up, but down-to-earth; tell funny stories, but talk serious politics; have lots of energy, but needs lots of naps. I'm trying to live a life of leisure as much as possible. I make few demands on people, so please be kind and do the same.

My Interests

I love music, reading, rocking out at club shows, getting tattoos, food, cooking, eating, going to restaurants, politics, current events, dancing, hanging out at the lake, strolling, kissing, laughing, making people laugh, Henry Rollins, Tristan Taormino, moonlight, sunlight, stars, kitties, etc.

I'd like to meet:

People who don't have their heads up their ass, know how to communicate articulately, are willing to try new things, have a spine and a sense of humor, not afraid to look like an idiot, read, rock, write, cook, dance, are honest, considerate, down-to-earth, creative and can make me laugh. Don't worry if you don't meet most of these preferences. Most people don't, otherwise, they would be me.

Music:

I like music from any genre, though I do tend to make fun of emo. My favorites are punk, disco and rap. Here's a sample: Black Flag, BeeGees, Dead Kennedys, Public Enemy, Ramones, Yvonne Elliman, Clash, Beastie Boys, Rollins, Joni Mitchell, Sinead O' Connor, Kool & The Gang, Run-D.M.C., Jello Biafra, Pretenders, Musique, Boogie Down Productions, M.I.A., Flaming Stars, Kool And The Gang, N.W.A., Benny Goodman, Half-Japanese, KC And The Sunshine Band, Ice Cube, Blind Willie Johnson, Fleshies, Alicia Bridges, Stetsasonic, Frank Sinatra, Victim's Family, Silver Convention, YZ, Chuck Berry, Zen Guerilla, Harold Melvin, X-Clan, Beatles, Slim Cessna's Auto Club, Sylvers, Poor Righteous Teachers, Fleetwood Mac, Wesley Willis, A Taste Of Honey, Dr. Dre, Janet Jackson, Black Kali Ma, McFadden And Whitehead, Jeru The Damaja, Alanis Morissette, Swans, Heatwave, Paris, Accused, Michael Gira, Earth, Wind And Fire, Jungle Brothers, Wu-Tang Clan, Strobe Talbot, Trammps, Grand Master Flash, Ghostface Killah, Evan Johns, Thelma Houston, Common Sense, Lydia Lunch, Fartz, Lipps, Inc., Doug E. Fresh, Ray Charles, Phantom Limbs, Marvin Gaye, Ice-T, Angelo Badalamenti, Jarboe, Geto Boys, Christians, Causey Way, House Of Pain, Quiet Riot, Ratos De Porao, De La Soul, Cibo Matto, Iowaska, Onyx, Any one of Aaron Davis' bands, D.O.A., Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E., Agnostic Front, Cypress Hill, LCD Soundsytem, Atari Teenage Riot, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Circle Jerks, Del The Funky Homosapien, Slayer, At The Drive-In, Alison Pipitone, Doombuggy, Redheaded Stepchild, Dials, Paperbacks, German Art Students, Powerknobs, Returnables, Goldstars, New Black, Bang! Bang! more...

Movies:

I don't watch a lot of movies because my disposable income tends to go to music, magazines, books and going out to eat, but here's a few of my favorites: There Will Be Blood, Last King Of Scotland, The Orphanage, Hostel, Midnight Cowboy, Jesus Is Magic, Saturday Night Fever, Blue Velvet, Pulp Fiction, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Citizen Kane...

Television:

I haven't had a tv since 1998, so I'm out to lunch on that, though, thanks to some friends, I have seen every episode of the new Battlestar Galactica and it's awesome. Adult Swim and the Simpsons always crack me up. Ok, I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for cartoons even if I don't get to watch them very much.

Books:

I prefer newspapers and magazines to books, but I love books, nonetheless. Here's a few goodies: How The Left Lost Teen Spirit by Danny Goldberg, Snobbery by Joseph Epstein, Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, Pucker Up by Tristan Taormino, Black Monk Time by Thomas Edward Shaw and Anita Klemke, Skipping Towards Gomorrah by Dan Savage, Devil's Midnight by Yuri Kapralov, Broken Summers by Henry Rollins, Eye Of Cybele by Daniel Chavarria

Heroes:

Henry Rollins, Tristan Taormino, the Muffin Lady, people who rock out at shows instead of standing around like lame asses, those who subvert the dominant paradigm.

my raging storm-swept heart

It's New Year's Day and we had a raging thunderstorm here. It was wild. Instead of bitterly cold winds blowing lake effect snow around, there were just cold winds driving heavy rains into the ground. ...

Without any help from anyone, I finally figured out how to make a profile and upload some pictures and it only took three hours of me clicking around blindly before I stumbled on the answer.
