Doombuggy

Nothing for Now!

About Me

Rising from the ashes of Buffalo's legendary SplatCats, Doombuggy was formed by singer Clarke Faust & drummer Pat Shaughnessy in 1995. Rounding out the combo was Spludderduds guitarist Chuck Root, Monkeywrench (a.k.a. The Wrench) bassist Scotty James & girlpope frontman Mark Norris on rhythm guitar.
Shows were played and demos were recorded. Chuck was less than satisfied with the results, so he unplugged his coffee maker and went home. After a rigorous audition & humiliating hazing period, Tyler Harrington assumed the position just in time for the release of the debut CD.
The band began playing outside of Buffalo and new songs appeared on compilations. Tired of pulling double duty, Mark was the next to go. Scotty eased on over, as he was eager to release his inner guitar-hero. Ed "Crystal Pepsi" Bredenberg was recruited by Mark to fill the empty bass slot. A split 7" with the Irving Klaws came next.
The band's demanding live schedule took its toll on poor Eddie, so he handed duties to Mike Ihlenfeld.
More weekend jaunts led up to the release of the "Blow Your Soul" CD. The clean & mature sound didn't mesh well with Mike's punk sensibilities so he went on to noisier pastures. Marc Hunt entered the picture briefly for "Doombuggy Pretenderized", a one-off Halloween tribute. However, it was not to last, as Walt Disney World beckoned. Scotty regressed to the four-string and Doombuggy remains a lean, mean four-piece to this day...
...well, except for the one time Frank Sterlace (ex-Bobo) decided to sit in.
